Our guide and driver were great. Friendly with lots of information. The rides were pleasant even though there's not much too look at until you get to the biosphere. The boat ride and seeing the flamingos, mangrove, etc. was terrific. It was really fun and interesting and unique. Celestun is a small, sleepy town with a big beach. We were there on a cloudy, windy day so couldn't really take advantage of the beach. The food options were pretty limited and just average as compared to Merida as whole. But the experience is definitely worth it - especially if you like birds and wildlife.

This trip to Celestun was amazing. The driver was prompt at our hotel, courteous and friendly. The other attendees were nice, too. The flamingo/boat ride was so fun and interesting. Never thought I'd see flamingos in real life. What an experience. We finished the day with the beach side relaxing. The food from the restaurant was fine- maybe lacking for me since I'm vegetarian but there was an option or two. The weather and water was beautiful. And the ride back was quick. Thank you!

This was an outstanding trip. Our driver and guide Wilbur was excellent. The time for the journey from Merida to Celestun was only about 1 hour and 20 minutes, although we were a little late getting going. The wildlife tour was truly sensational. We saw hundreds of flamingos, many other bird species (our guide pointed out we were especially lucky to see so many), and even two crocodiles. The tour goes through a narrow mangrove forest - quite stunning - insect repellant is important. There is a short hike also and a chance to swim in a spring fed pond. After the wildlife tour, we went to the beach where we had a perfectly reasonable lunch at a restaurant. The beach is very nice and we had plenty of time for a walk and a swim. Mainly due to the wildlife part, this is a great tour. It was pretty expensive compared to other tours we have done in Yucatan but definitely worth it.
