We will start the tour in the heart of the city, once our small group (3-6 people) is together we will visit 2 of the most emblematic markets of Yucatan where we will taste multiple dishes of Yucatecan cuisine in the best stalls/stands of the market. Along with breakfast we will also enjoy a refreshing fruit water and to finish we will taste typical sweets of my beautiful Yucatan. During the tour I will tell you about the ingredients and the preparation of the different dishes we will taste as well as the influence of the Mayan culture in Yucatecan gastronomy and how their heritage is still alive in our palate.

Shop at the Market and cook like a local with your Mexican mom in a small group! - Spend a nice afternoon at the intimacy of a very authentic, cozy and unpretencious home in a neighborhood where regular travelers never visit! - Visit and see the local and oldest market of the city trough the eyes of a local. - Learn the secrets and tips that locals know about shopping in the mexican traditional markets. - Try local snacks, spices, fruits and the very mexican aguas frescas! - Get a recipe book of the activity to cook your dishes at home! Develop your cooking skills learning the process of making 5 different Yucatan Dishes, their garnishes and the methods that you can apply at home! Start your local adventure meeting your guide at a very nice and centric park to start a historic stroll towards the oldest traditional market in the city! There, your english speaking local guide will lead you through its mazes, stoping in the stalls, where happily the vendors will share and sell the fresh ingredients you will buy. With the help of your english-speaking guide explaining you all about Mayan, Yucatan and Mexican gastronomy, and the stories hidden behind them, you'll walk the market just like the locals do and discover the flavors and spices that we use in the region. Right in the middle, you'll have a little surprise that we have prepared for you ;) After your time navigating the market, you'll take a local public transport (mainly digital platforms) and ride into a lovely afternoon, cooking and sharing just as the Mexican families do: visiting the home of your “Mexican Mom”. Within her lovely and warm place, Mamá will lead our hands oncooking where you'll get to transform our ingredients into five flavorful delicacies of the region, learning their processes while you build real human connections doing what humans has been done since our very beggining: sharing our food. Once you, mamá and your guide filled up belly and hearts spending an afternoon in the intimacy of a local and calm neighborhood, your guide will stay to help on the clean up!
