Take a ride to another era on Australia's most famous narrow gauge railway. Puffing Billy takes you through the Blue Dandenong Ranges and Healesville Sanctuary, nestled in the foothils of the Great Divide. There you'll be able see Australia's wildlife.
What to Expect
There is no better way to see a country’s landscape than through the windows of a train. Puffing Billy, Australia’s famous narrow gauge railway, takes you on a ride in a bygone era, through the Blue Dandenong Ranges. Perhaps you’ll even hear the call of the kookaburra or the bellbird above Billy’s cheerful whistle.
A great day tour for the whole family, the tour takes you through the Yara Valley, offering wide vistas of farmland and vineyards. You will also visit Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery where you will receive complimentary chocolate tastings and view displays of premium chocolates and European Chocolatiers at work.
At Healesville Sanctuary you'll find all of the wildlife for which Australia is famous. Get a glimpse of kangaroos, koalas and dingoes as you pause to appreciate the natural world. Don’t pass up the opportunity to explore the wetlands, either. Watch the birds in their natural habitat, meet a hair-nosed wombat and see a demonstration by some very majestic eagles.
