Full description

Situated in Federation Square in the heart of the city, chill and enjoy a drink at Melbourne’s only ice bar — a must for tourists and locals alike. Geared up in special snow wear, make your way through the doors of the explorer's ship and into the sub-zero temperatures on the other side.   This is a truly unique Arctic experience for people of all ages, so don’t leave your little explorers at home. People under the age of 18 are welcome with an adult. You'll be surrounded by over 40 tones of expertly sculpted ice.  The ice bar is also within walking distance of many other major Melbourne attractions, including the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Botanical Gardens, Crown Casino, Melbourne Aquarium, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne Sky Deck, and Bourke Street Mall.

The staff were nice and the drinks were okay but the experience was basically 45 minutes in a freezer. It would probably have been more fun if there were a few more (we were only 4). I also think it would make a big difference if you could take your own photos. As it is, you have to pay in expensive judgments for the pictures that can be taken by the provider's equipment. They don't always just turn to where the motif you want is!
