Full description
Enjoy morning views of Melbourne city and Port Phillip Bay as you cross the Westgate Bridge, Australia’s longest bridge, at just under 1.5 miles (2.6 kilometers). You are embarking on one of the world’s greatest drives to tour the Great Ocean Road! The scenic journey along the Great Ocean Road takes in some truly amazing coastal scenery, with new views being revealed around every bend. You will make plenty of scenic stops, including a photo opportunity at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch at Eastern View and a stop at Kennet River, home to a large population of cute and cuddly wild Koalas. A sighting is almost guaranteed as they munch away on Eucalyptus leaves. Then it is on to Apollo Bay for a chance to walk around the famous coastal town. Afterwards, follow the Great Ocean Road away from the water and into the mountains. Proceed through the spectacular Otway Ranges and stop to enjoy a stroll in the cool, temperate rainforest at Maits Rest. Continue to Port Campbell National Park, with its iconic array of rock formations. Be awestruck by the majestic monoliths of the 12 Apostles. A dinner stop is made on the journey back to Melbourne at the beautiful township of Colac, before enjoying a stunning view of the illuminated city as you cross Westgate Bridge on the way home.

This was my first tour with “Go West” tour. Such an experienced and brilliant company. Our tour guide Tim was great. He made all of us feel special and used our names. He asked from us to introduce ourselves so that we all know who are in our tour. Such a great idea. The great ocean road tour in Melbourne is a must. 12 Apostles is indeed mind blowingly beautiful. During the tour there were other beautiful sites too... every place that we have visited was worthwhile seeing. The small town that we have stopped for lunch was also very good. The fish restaurant had delicious fresh very affordably priced food. In the morning we also had coffee/tea and cake time. That was also well thought. After the tour “go west” follows up with the participants of the tour and their questions are so professionally written I can tell why the tour guide was very good. I totally recommend this tour with Go West.

What a wonderful tour! We were picked up in a minivan, enough to transport only a group of c.20 +/- people was which the perfect number for a fun yet intimate experience. The tour guide Emma was very entertaining, knowledgeable, and a safe driver. We had an awesome playlist all throughout the journey. Though it was a long day, I had a comfortable seat that I fell asleep for parts of the journey but the views were stunning on route so don't miss it! This tour was by far one of my favourite days in Australia. Take note of all the pit stops as it's definitely worth a another visit over a few days as opposed to the one day. I was travelling on my own and had a fantastic time and felt safe.
