Full description
Escape the hustle and bustle of Melbourne on a small group eco-tour to the Grampians National Park, and discover a nature lover’s paradise. Depart Melbourne at 08:00 and travel through the western plains of Victoria on route to historic Ballarat, a boom town of the 1850s following the widespread discovery of gold. Learn the history of the region over morning tea at the infamous Eureka Rebellion site. Continue through the picturesque western volcanic plains, and pass through the town of Moyston, the birthplace of Australian Rules Football. Arrive at the foot of the Grampians Range (Gariwerd in the local aboriginal language), and take a short walk to Silverband Falls. Then, head to Halls Gap for lunch. Keep a look out for kangaroos and abundant birdlife that can be seen in the main street. After lunch, go to the Wonderland car park and Grand Canyon and marvel at the rock formation as you take a walk through the canyon. See high rising rock walls, crisscrossed with layering and fault lines that showcase the area’s unique geology. Next, visit the majestic cascades of Mackenzie Falls, and watch the water cascade down the rocks in a gorge surrounded by eucalyptus forest. Walk the Bluff trail along the top of the cliffs for panoramic views of the falls, or journey downstairs to the base of the steep gorge. Another stunning photo opportunity awaits at Reeds Lookout, a vantage point that overlooks the towering Stringybark Forest and Victoria Valley. Your next port of call is Boroka Lookout, where panoramic views of the surrounding region and town of Halls Gap await. Look further afield to Lake Bellfield and beyond. Make your way back to Halls Gap for a last attempt to spot some native kangaroos before returning to Melbourne. Stop for dinner on route back to the city, and enjoy a stunning view of the illuminated city on your return home.

We had a great time on our trip to the Grampians. Our guide, Jon, was super knowledgeable, entertaining, and made the historical bits fun and easy to remember. Although we anticipated this being an actual hike the entire time, vice a hop on and hop off hike, we enjoyed ourselves.

The first stop was morning tea and cake in the park near Eureka where Stockade on Dec 03, 1854. It was a nice short walk to the Silverband falls before lunch in the Halls Gaps. It was interesting to see waterfall right into the rock and water disappeared underground, so you can walk in to to touch the falls. Afternoon: we took short walk along Grand Canyon Wonderland. The formation of rocks was amazing and impressive. We even posed a group picture of Go West formation. We had time to explore Mackenzie Falls and Broken Falls, both of falls were magnificent. We had really good time with Driver and guide Sara from Go West on the tour. She had took good care of us and had talked about history, nature, birds, and some jokes to make day relaxing. There was enough time to enjoy each stop on the schedule. This trip was lucky to see 10 emu and a mock of kangaroo and spent time with them in the wild. We really enjoyed this wonderful Grampians NP tour.

Grat scenery very versatile and stunning views.

Definitely a trip worth doing the views are breathtaking, the scenery stunning and. Ersatzleute. The walks are great and not too challenging. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly and entertaining. The food that was included was ok, I would have liked to know a bit more about what to expect to get and if people have any special diatary needs they could definitely do with more info about what can be catered for.
