The Medieval Torture Collection reminds visitors of the horrific injustices inflicted by madmen and tyrants upon the most unfortunate living in the Middle Ages. Throughout 5,000 square-feet, terrifying yet historically accurate exhibits and life-like reenactments showcase over a hundred repulsive torture devices, practices, and weapons used in Medieval societies. The museum's six rooms each boasts its own creepy theme. For example, one room houses the pendulum, a horrifying device that involved a swinging blade that slowly dipped towards the prisoner's body, eventually tearing through their clothes and skin. Another room features the grisly practice of strapping a bucket of rats onto a captive's torso, the application of heat forcing the vermin to claw through the stomach and chest.
