  • See Escobar's grave and the place where he was killed
  • Discover the football field he built when he tried to become a politician
Full description
After pickup from your hotel in Medellín, begin your 4-hour tour by visiting the site of the former Monaco building where Escobar hid his family. Hear stories about his main house and how it has now been transformed into a renewed space that reconstructs history through art and culture. Next, make your way to the cemetery where Escobar is buried along with other members of his gang, and to the cathedral he built as a jail for himself in an agreement with the government of the time. While locked up in the prison, Escobar still ran his business and managed his “empire.” Later on, head to the rooftop where Escobar was killed and the neighborhood where the pursuit took place. Last but not least, visit the football field Escobar built where he gave speeches when he was trying to become president of Colombia. By the end of the day, you will have a better understanding of the hard facts about Pablo Escobar, which by no means glorify him.

Had the afternoon tour booked, but then in the very early morning learn that this does not take place. The road to "La Catedral" would be closed? No idea if that was true ... So I asked if maybe I could join the morning tour and this was not a problem. You just have to be flexible. The tour was otherwise good for the price. We visited La Catedral, Pablo's grave, the house - on whose roof he died and the place where the former "Monaco Building" stood. The guide spoke good English and has provided much information.
