    After being picked up in Medellin, drive for 1.5 hours to the eastern Antioquia municipality of Guatapé. Once there, take a 1-hour boat tour through the reservoir. Soak up panoramic views of Casa Museo, La Cruz, Marial Rock, El Peñol Rock, and the ruins of Pablo Escobar's vacation home. Then, climb the 740 steps to reach the top of the Rock of Guatapé or Piedra del Peñol, a 220-meter (722-foot) high monolith surrounded by abundant water and vegetation. At the summit, delight in magnificent 360-degree views of the spectacular landscape and Guatapé Dam, built in the lands of the old municipality of Peñol in the 1970s. Next, visit Guatapé, a growing and colorful city made unique by the decorative tiles adorning the lower facades of the houses. Replenish your energy with a lunch of rice, beans, fries, salad, and a choice of pork, chicken or beef, with a refreshing drink included. Return to Medellín after and be dropped off at your hotel.

    It was a perfect day! Manuel was very timely from start to finish. Manuel speaks great English and was very friendly and knowledgeable. The arrival to Piedra Penol was amazing, the climb exhilarating, the lunch was yummy! Get the fish soup! The walking of the town was super cute learn about the history and the resilience of the Guatape people. For a solo traveler was a great value and wonderful time! Highly recommend

    Ideal departure at 8 in the morning, it allowed us to be at the Rock at a convenient time with still few tourists. Exceptional was the guide named Diego who spoke English very well and also a few words of Italian. Diego was exceptional always kind and smiling. The transfer by private car was quick and comfortable. Excellent idea of first seeing the Penol di Guatape then the town Guatape and after the boat ride. Beautiful experience.
