Full description

Learn all about Pablo Escobar's life on a 4-hour guided, private tour in Medellín including three main stops: Inflexion Memorial Park, La Catedral jail, and a cable car ride to enjoy a panoramic view of the West side of the city for unforgettable photo opportunities.

Hear interesting anecdotes as a knowledgeable guide presents Pablo Escobar's history on a sightseeing tour of the most famous locations linked to the drug lord, and how he affected Medellín and Colombia as a whole.

Start your tour by visiting the Inflexion Memorial Park, built in 2019 on top of the lot of the old Monaco Building, a former property of the drug lord, to commemorate the 46,612 victims who were killed during his rule.

Take a moment to walk through the moving space while your guide tells you facts of that time.

Next, make your way to La Catedral, a personal prison Pablo Escobar built for himself — and where he spent five years — on top of a hill overlooking the city. It is said that he could choose who guarded him, and that the prison was built more to keep his enemies out than to keep him in.

Drive on to visit the cemetery where Pablo Escobar is buried, as well as the neighborhood in which he spent his teenage years, and the house where he died. End your tour with a spectacular panoramic view of the West side of the city on a cable car ride before being dropped back off at your hotel.

Juan, our tour guide, was extremely informative, knowledgeable, and patient. I am mobility impaired and he took his time with me and my partner, explained everything in detail, and we were able to see everything and more that the tour offered. I highly recommend booking this tour for a more detailed understanding of Pablo Escobar and the cable car ride through the neighborhoods. We could not have been more impressed. Huge thumbs up to City Best Tours!!

This was the best tour I’ve ever been on. And that is because of my guide, Juan. He was incredibly kind, passionate about the subject, accommodating, and downright fun to spend time with. He drove my friends around Medellin, filling the time with captivating stories about Pablo, pit stops for authentic Colombian snacks, and enjoyable conversation. The tour itself was very well structured. I thought that beginning at the memorial was a great way to set the right tone, as the fight the Colombian people made against Pablo is the real story. Not the lavish/romanticized Narco lifestyles that are portrayed through pop culture mediums. Again, it is the tour guide who makes a trip like this truly memorable and special. I can’t say enough good things about Juan, and I will certainly be looking to do another tour with him when I return to Medellin. Thank you for being a tour company that recruits TOP TIER talent.

He did not agree to promote this character. However, I agreed because of a friend. And I'm glad I did it because our local guide told us the real story and how now Medellin and Colombia is no longer PE, and never was, it was just a part of its history. Colombia is a country full of charm and its people are wonderful!!
