From there, you'll be driven to the downtown area of the city to experience a vibrant part of town. There, see the street art that transforms the gray walls into colorful spaces with stories, and start to learn about some of Medellín's evolving history and troubled past. After downtown, head toward a parking lot close to the Comuna 13 district to park the car before your private group takes the famous cable car up the hills. Make sure to take in the fabulous panoramic views of the city on the way up as your guide tells you more about the surrounding area and its history. At Comuna 13, the real fun begins. Your enthusiastic guide will explain all the positive changes made to transform what was once one of the most dangerous communities in South America into a symbol of the new Medellín. Enjoy time to take in all the amazing street graffiti and ride the electric outdoor escalators to the top observation deck, which offers incredible views. Met Manuel at the location and time we discussed, spoke English perfectly so nothing was lost in translation. Tour consisted of several stops with detailed information on the graffiti and the meaning behind the paintings. Also visited the buildings where Escobar fled from and died on the rooftop. Rode a cable car as well to view the city from high up. Plenty of time for bathroom stops and breaks along the way for food and drinks. Really learned a lot from Manuel, he knows all about the graffiti and city in general, very personable and great sense of humor. Never seemed rushed at all, plus he seemed to love giving tours and meeting people. This is definitely the tour I will recommend to my friends and anyone else looking to explore Comuna 13.

It was a great experience with Jorge Esteban as my guide. It was like being with a family member. Speaks English every will and is an English teacher. So there is no misunderstandings when you speak with each other very knowledgeable about the area and history of the city. I will definitely book him again in the future Great guy and guide to show you the city. And tell you the history of the areas and how some things work the areas that are not the best looking areas. I definitely recommend this Service to view the city and artwork in comunidad 13.
