Meet your guide in the metro station to begin the tour and experience Medellín like a local. Learn all about the stations and key points in the city as well as how the metro system helped shape the new Medellin. When arriving at the connecting station, hop on a cable car up the hill. As you go, admire the panoramic views of the city and find out about its evolving history and troubled past. At the top, stop to sample local snacks and take a short ride on the bus toward the Comuna 13 district. At the Comuna 13, the real fun begins. An enthusiastic guide will explain all the positive changes made to transform what was once one of the most dangerous communities in South America into a symbol of the new Medellín. You will have time to take in all the amazing street art and ride the electric outdoor escalators to the top observation deck, which offers incredible views. Arturo, our guide, was great -- a font of knowledge about the fascinating turn-around for this formerly dangerous neighborhood. It was actually a very emotional experience. Seeing the very welcoming people living there doing what they can to turn their lives and their fortunes around was truly touching. I would recommend this tour as the number one thing to do in Medellin.

This is a must do while in Medellín. This was the best tour in my two weeks in Colombia. It was a perfect way to visit Communa 13 and have an immersive experience. Not only did we tour the area, we stopped at amazing shops, galleries, and restaurants along the way. As a solo traveler, I’m always looking for safe opportunities to learn about the history of an area and meet fellow travelers. Sebastian was an amazing guide and made this a worthwhile experience.

If you don't just hunt for the next photo spot, you learn a lot about the history of the Communa 13. Our guide was very engaging, super nice and seemed to have a great deal of knowledge. After the tour, he gave us tips on delicious local restaurants and cafes.
