Arrive at the “Town of Fruits” and find out more about Colombia's first colonial city.
What to Expect
This is a full day tour to the first colonized town in Antioquia, founded in 1544. Your bilingual guide will meet with you at your accommodation, and then embark on a personalized tour (by foot and also in an air-conditioned vehicle).
It takes almost 2 hours to get to the Town of Fruits, going past spectacular sceneries to get you to a final destination distinguished by its classy architecture with classy stone roads and cultural heritage. Once there, a walk around the town -before or after lunch – is the best way to check out the elegant religious churches and the history. The best place to experience the colonial times is the Juan Del Corral Museum, which gathers objects, documents and historical facts on the colonization of Antioquia.
During the afternoon hours, the tour visits the Occidente Bridge, part of the national heritage which is no longer used by cars since it is more than 200 years old. It is accessible, however, and you are free to walk around and take pictures of the spectacular views before going back to Medellin at the end of the day.
