Great day trip from Medan! Our driver Uncle Mike expertly navigated us to the mountain where we met Anggi our guide. The hike is challenging, but as long as you have good hiking boots and appropriate clothing, it's comfortable. Recommend you wear layers so you can remove extra layers as the day heats up. The description said that flashlights would be provided, but this seems to have been overlooked - only our guide had a flashlight which made the final ascent in the dark a bit risky. Recommend you either confirm with the operator ahead of time, or bring your own headlamp. The weather for our climb was perfect with the sky clouding over during the descent. The visit to the hot springs to soak our achy muscles was a great way to end the hike. Anggi and Mike were great hosts and took us to a local market to experience the local community. Overall, an amazing day, and highly recommend you ask for Anggi as your guide. A 5* experience, but giving 4* due to the lack of flashlights.

Super organized tour with a friendly driver and guide. Uncle Mike picked us up on time in Medan and brought us safely through the chaotic traffic of Sumatra to Bergastagi. Our guide Anggi was already waiting for us there and we started our ascent of Mount Si ayak. Anggi explained a lot about the nature, the volcano, the surroundings and also had a few funny stories about the volcano. When we got to the top, he made us a coffee, with super delicious cookies, homemade by his sister :) and we were able to enjoy the sunrise. Anggi was always careful that we always had the best view and never ended up in a place where tourists gather. That was super pleasant and we were able to enjoy everything in peace. After the descent we spent some time in Bergastagi, visiting two markets. Here too, Anggi was always careful to give us the best insight, at the same time that we felt safe and a
