The flight was everything we could have hoped for and more. Our Pilot Jack Harmon was awesome...Friendly, Funny and informative. We spent a week on Maui and everything was wonderful, but this excursion was unanimously the Family's favorite activity of the trip. The only "complaint" from us is that it didn't is that the tour had to end...lol (my wife said that she could have spent hours at the landing in the rain forest). A+ all around 5+ Stars. Highly Recommend!

Full description

Enjoy a scenic flight from Kahului over the remote landscape of Maui with this guided helicopter tour. Your experience includes a 35-minute landing to explore the rainforest on foot.  Board the helicopter at the airport in Kahului and begin your tour of Maui. Fly along the island’s north coast and admire views of cliffs, forest, and cascading waterfalls. Soar above Paia, Hookipa, and Haiku as you listen to your guide’s commentary. See aerial views of Peahi which is also known as Jaws, a famous surfing location. Fly over the Road to Hana and the iconic Jurassic Rock, to reach the landing-place deep in the Hawaiian rainforest.  Descend to the forest floor and visit a former taro plantation in the Wailua Valley, home to lush vegetation of banana and coconut palms. Enjoy your time exploring the rainforest floor, especially as it’s an area that is not the typical beaten track for tourists. Return to the helicopter for the flight back to Kahului, where your experience ends.

  • Helicopter seating is based on legal weight & balance limits and will be assigned after check-in. Maverick Helicopters does not guarantee seating next to or in the same row of the rest of the party
  • Closed-toed shoes are highly recommended for anyone landing as the ground can be uneven and wet.
