The Barranco de Masca offers one of the most impressive hiking experiences in Tenerife. The Barranco de Masca has always been one of the most demanded hiking activities on the island of Tenerife. Since a few years ago, for an adequate enjoyment, it has a limited quota of daily places. In addition, it is a demanding trail, not without risks, so it is highly recommended to be accompanied by an expert tour guide. We have prepared an all-inclusive adventure excursion, carefully organized, which includes entrance and all the necessary details for an unforgettable experience. This adventure begins at the Los Gigantes Marina, where we will take a shuttle to the traditional hamlet of Masca. From there, we will begin the 5 km descent through the Masca Ravine, crossing dramatic landscapes until we reach a paradisiacal cove at the foot of the imposing Los Gigantes Cliffs, which reach 450 meters in height. In this area, for safety reasons, bathing is currently not allowed. After a short break to enjoy the surroundings, we will take a boat and sail back to Los Gigantes Marina, enjoying unbeatable views of the coast. This medium-difficulty activity combines the excitement of hiking with the tranquility of a relaxing boat ride, ideal for those seeking adventure and serenity. Meeting point and time: Los Gigantes Marina (next to the entrance control barrier). It is advisable to arrive with some time in advance to park. We recommend trying to park in the streets before arriving at the pier. In case it is not possible, you should use the services of the private parking of the Marina. Approximate price: 2 €/hour. Experience Tenerifes most spectacular hike in a small group and escorted by a certified and experienced hiking guide! Our multilingual staff meets you for the safety-instruction on the picturesque mountain villages´ square. You will be handed your helmets, your passports/ ID-cards will be checked as well as your boots´ soles (entry into the canyon is only permitted with trekking or hiking shoes in proper conditions!). After a quick toilet-stop in the Visitors Centre we enter the Masca Gorge and start our roughly 3.5 hour descent from 650 metres above sea level until the beach. Our guide explains some peculiarities of the village and the protected area as well as the geological formation of the gigantic rock walls around us. After the hike we have a break nearby the Masca beach and then board the water taxi which takes us to Los Gigantes port, passing just a few meters next to some of Europe’s very highest and steepest cliffs. After this entertaining 15 minutes boat trip we take a taxi back to Masca village/ the car park and have an optional coffee stop all together before everybody hits the own way home.

Discover this fantastic route that runs high in the mountains of the rural park of Teno. Admire the different contrasts of vegetation along the way. Our meeting point will be in the village of Masca where you can arrive by bus or in your vehicle. Here we will take a bus that will take us to Santiago del Teide where we will start walking. The trail will rise during the first stretch of about 3km up to 1200 meters high and then descend gradually until we reach Masca. This little known path will reveal incredible viewpoints from the top of the mountains. We will pass through a laurel forest and we will walk along ancient paths that served as communication routes for the people of yesteryear. Our experienced local guide will show you the most representative endemic species on a nature interpretative route. Arriving at Masca you can enjoy your time for lunch and visit the village.

This is not the Masca Gorge or "Barranco de Masca" hike. Instead, embark on a picturesque alpine hike that explores a high undulating ridge with some short steep ascents that offer panoramic views of the laurel forest. Follow a path deep into the sub-tropical rainforest, one of the most important ecosystems on the island. Then, just like magic, a mountain landscape appears that could be out of "The Sound of Music" where you are given one of the most spectacular panoramic views the island has to offer. The trip starts at the Puerto Deportivo de Los Gigantes, from where we drive to Masca. We then begin the 5 km descent through the Barranco de Masca, past dramatic landscapes to an idyllic cove at the foot of the imposing Los Gigantes cliffs. For safety reasons, swimming is currently not permitted here. After a short break, we take a boat back to the Puerto Deportivo de Los Gigantes, where you can enjoy impressive coastal views. This medium-difficulty activity combines hiking adventure with the relaxation of a boat trip - ideal for adventure seekers who are also looking for peace and quiet. Meeting point and time: Puerto Deportivo de Los Gigantes (next to the access control barrier). It is recommended to arrive a little earlier to find a parking space.
