2 Hours Buda Castle Walking Tour - Walk with a Historian

3. 2 Hours Buda Castle Walking Tour - Walk with a Historian

The Buda Castle district is one of the most important must-see places in Budapest. Stroll through its history by visiting monuments which range from the medieval and Ottoman times up until the Modern period, as practically every century has left its mark on the district. Discover both the highlights, like the Matthias Church, and more hidden spots even many locals don't know, with the guidance of a field expert historian. Starting from the Bécsi kapu Square in the so-called civilian quarter, visit a unique small synagogue-museum and hear the story of a bigger one once stood nearby. Visit the remains of the Mary Magdalene Church, then visit the Matthias Church in its full glory. Explore Buda Castle itself, once the seat of the Hungarian kings and an ending point for this walking tour. Beside the monuments the streets themselves are also interesting. Get to know the tales which surround the streets of the Buda Castle District, learn their stories and explore less-known interesting sights.

My trip to Budapest was quite nice. It was made more convenient due to the Budapest Card. Apart from having unlimited rides in the public transportation, the entrance to most tourist sites were made easier just by showing this card. The included airport transfer was also a nice touch. Reminder: Always bring this card with you in using the public transportation in Budapest as there are inspectors who conduct random inspections.

Very useful and very practical if you are going to spend more than one day in Budapest, it gives you access to museums and all public transport, with the exception of the direct bus from the airport to the city, from then on, it is completely worth it

This was completely worth it! I used public transport the whole 2 days, went to 5 art museums, checked out the bath house included in the Budapest card, and so much more. I will def. be purchasing again next time I'm in Budapest in April. Thanks!

Budapest is very beutiful city. I had a goog time in Budapest. But I had a trouble. I didn't get the change back from shopping. Is it because I am tourist?

Amazing trip and we used our card everywhere. It was great value and I’d recommend. We loved the baths too
