Long day starting at 6am and back in Boston for about 7pm. Nice drive to the ferry and only a short 30 minutes or so across to the Island. We didn't book the Island tour but used the public busses to get around. We went to Edgartown, Vineyard Haven and back to Oak Bluffs on the busses and they were easy to find and use. Their website gives you loads of info and the prices were around $2-3 a ticket. It was throwing it down all day when we went but there were plenty of lovely local shops at each town to have a look in and we bought some really nice souvenirs. Our driver was very knowledgeable and told us everything we needed to know and there were toilet stops to and from Boston at a services that also sold food and drinks; although there was bottled water, breakfast bars, crisps and kit-kats and some other snacks on the bus for anyone who wanted them which was very nice! All in all a brilliant day trip!

We really enjoyed the trip and the tour we booked around the island in the old school bus was great too. However, if you want the full experience, you should go during peak season. When we were there, more than 50% of the island was already closed at the end of October. Nevertheless, it is breathtakingly beautiful and you could really enjoy the sweet vibe of Cape Cod in the off-season without the crowds. We will definitely come back, then in peak season and with even more time, but this trip was perfect for exploring the island.

Loved both the guides-the first one was hillarious-really funny and secobd one was lovely and very infiormative. Me and my girls loved our dsy

Tour guide Laurent was amazing, lots of interesting knowledge about the area and lots of stories along the way

Excellent trip. Would have liked a little longer at the stops on the Island.
