Marseille: Mucem Skip-the-Line Entry Ticket

5. Marseille: Mucem Skip-the-Line Entry Ticket

Admire the stunning architecture of the building by Rudy Ricciotti, and stroll along the corridors of the museum to get stunning views of the old port and Mediterranean Sea. Explore exhibitions that combine anthropology, history, archaeology, art history and contemporary art to explain the Mediterranean world and its dialogue with Europe in amazing detail. Exhibition : Fashion Folklore By rediscovering forgotten correspondences and inspirations, the "Fashion folklore" exhibition reminds us that throughout the 20th century, haute couture designers never ceased to summon the forms and imaginations attached to popular costume, and more broadly in folklore. The textile collections of the Mucem constitute the heart of the exhibition. Compared with pieces of haute couture and great designers, they testify to the continuities that irrigate the history of fashion as well as the porosity of the borders between artistic creation and popular culture. The new look that contemporary creation allows to put on costumes responds to the historical depth that they offer to the works of couturiers, in a fruitful dialogue between heritage and contemporary.

What people are saying about Marseille

We had a unique and fabulous cruise. Our guide Francois was a wonderful guide, friendly and relaxed but totally in command which made us feel very safe. He welcomed everyone, an eclectic group of travellers from all around the world!! India, Germany, Peru, Poland/UK, USA and us…from Australia. Such a gorgeous group of people and we all chatted through the cruise and genuinely enjoyed each other’s company!! New friends!! The boat was clean and well appointed. Many of us swam in a safe cove that Francois selected, this was a magical and exhilarating experience!! Very safe and Francois very attentive to help everyone who wanted to do this. Not to be missed!! Simple and yummy fare washed down with a wine or a cordial. Highly recommend, you will see beautiful Marseille from a totally different vantage point and learn about its rich and vibrant history! Highly recommend!! Catherine

This is a great way to see the Calanques and I would say a must do, especially if you want to jump out and go swimming. The captain was very nice and accommodating. Lunch is relatively light with one glass of rosé. It might be a good idea to bring and extra snack and some water. However, you’re going for the scenery and the water which you can’t beat.

Amazing time! The water was gorgeous and our tour guide was knowledgeable and taught us about Marseille and the history behind some of the buildings we saw. Food was delicious as well. Will definitely recommend to anyone who visits in the future. Worth every penny!

The trip was amazing. Our captain Francois was super friendly and a great host. We were a small group of people on the boat and it was great fun.

The guide was very friendly and warm! The landscape was magnificent
