This e-mountain bike tour is an excellent way to see the Calanques National Park and nearby villages. The bikes were in good order, and the route was great including a mix of beachside streets, walking paths and rocky, hilly hiking paths. I am a regular cyclist with familiarity with riding over rocks and sand but someone with little experience might find the handling a little daunting. You don't have to be in super shape -- the e-bikes work great getting you up the grades. Meeting location was easy to find, and easily accessible by Metro and bus from downtown Marseille. I felt like it was a good value. And we had fun going to the beach across the street to cool off afterward!
Even though the temperature was 35 degrees, the ride was superb! The electric bikes make for easy riding but some experience of MTB would be a benefit as the dusty tracks can be quite challenging. The experience is well worth the effort as you will get to see some truly breathtaking views of the Calanques! Highly recommended for anyone who is not afraid to get sweaty and wants to see Marseille from a very different perspective.
Must do if you are in Marseille. Magnificent landscapes, breathtaking view of the creeks and the panorama at the top. It was wonderful especially with the guide who took his time explaining the efforts on the climbs and how to switch modes and speeds on the mountain bike. Climbing becomes a breeze with Turbo mode lol.
Absolutely recommend this tour. The guide was very nice and we saw so many beautiful places. The e-bikes were almost new and by a good brand (Cube). But consider: You bike off road uphills and (fast) down and therefore you may not be afraid of this fact. Thank you very much.
All just great. Very nice easy outing for everyone. Breathtaking landscapes. Our guide was also very nice and well organized as we needed a first aid kit to cure a minor boo and he had them all with him. I recommend this activity to everyone young and old.
