Full description

Experience the bohemian vibe of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast on a full-day tour from Marrakech. Transfer by air-conditioned vehicle across west Morocco, enjoying views of the arid landscape and argan trees en route. Stop at the town of Chichaoua for coffee. Arrive in Essaouira approximately 2 hours after your departure from Marrakech. Get your 1st views of more than 6 miles (10 kilometers) of golden beaches, popular with surfers for the constant, bracing winds. Once in Essaouira you are free to explore the medina and Portuguese architecture on your own. Alternatively, meet your local guide for a 1.5-hour tour of the Skala du Port and bastion southeast of the medina. Stroll the labyrinthine streets of the medina, hearing traditional Gnaoua Muic music on every corner. Watch artisans at work, crafting thuya wood crafts. Continue to the fishing port to see the fishermen selling their catch of the day. Taste fresh seafood over lunch in the port. Then, take a walk along the beach before your transfer back to Marrakech. En route, stop at an argan oil co-operative to see how the Berber ladies process the traditional argan oil, known locally as “liquid gold.”

We were in a small group of 7 people. I really wanted to see the Goats on the Argan tree and was wondering if we were able to do so. Along the way we saw a few trees with goats thus the driver stopped so that we can take pictures. Afterwards, we stopped at an Argan shop to view how the argan is ground to make oil etc. Although the prices were a higher than the medina, I bought roasted argan oil for dipping. The taste was incredible. Upon arriving @ Essouria, we were met by a tour guide named Hamiza. She was a great tour guide who talked about the history of Essouria. Hamiza also took us to the market where we picked our fresh fish and had a lady grill or fry the fish for you. We also received salad, bread & olives with our fried fish. It was a great day tour!!

We had a really nice driver who picked us up on time. The goats in the tree were really cool to see and we enjoyed the guided tour of Essaouira before exploring the town ourselves. There's not loads to see there but the time that you get there is just enough. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.

I booked this trip with my boyfriend for our last day in Morocco. It was a pleasant experience, not too much pressure in the tour and it was smooth. The driver Abdou was also very nice and he was on time. Our tour guide in Essaouira Younes was also very nice and explained the history of the city and the places we've visited really well. Although we didn't have a lot of time in Essaouira after the tour, it was still a pleasing experience. The city is so laidback compared to Marrakech and a lot less chaotic. Totally a different vibe and also the fact that in the Medica, the vendors are not aggressive in asking you to buy stuff which gives you the freedom to freely look around without worrying that you WILL have to buy it.
