This was a highlight of the holiday. You have to be moderately fit as some steep climbs, but lots of breaks and opportunities to stop for photos and catch your breath. There was no pressure to buy at the argon oil cooperative but a lot of street sellers are waiting to pounce on you as you get off the minibus, as long as you say no thank you they leave you alone. Wear trainers, good grip will help…lovely fresh air, a welcome change from the Medina and bonus the minibus had WiFi! The guide didn’t speak brilliant English but this wasn’t a problem. The lunch venue was fab, around 90 to 120 DH for lunch, tagines or mixed kebabs and chips. Beautiful to sit by the water and chat with other travellers.
We really enjoyed the trip to Ourika Valley. We think of the valley and the program includes hiking in the mountains😀. Remember to wear appropriate footwear and a light sweatshirt, as it is a bit colder in the mountains than in Marrakech. Unforgettable views. Our tour leader was Zubeir and our driver was Khaled. The gentlemen showed professionalism, tact and courtesy. We had one more guide on the route. You could count on support and help in everything. The group of 14 mainly young people was very nice and disciplined. Everything happened on time. The optional dinner is delicious! We didn't see any monkeys, but we did see cats😉.
