What People Are Saying About Marrakech
This was a great trip. We were lucky with the weather but also with our driver and host for the day Abdu. He was very pleasant, courteous and knowledgable. A thoroughly nice bloke! Nothing was too much trouble and with my wife being 6 months pregnant the consatant 'pee' stops were accommodated no bother. The guide to the waterfalls (Mustafa) was a gem and the lunch in a traditional Berbere home was so authentic and one of the better meals we've enjoyed (better than those in our 5 star hotel!). A thoroughly enjoyable day. Ensure you wear comfortable and sturdy shoes and lots of layers if the weather is inclement. Also haggle at the Aegean Oil place. You will get it for 60% less if you do! Our guide Lahsone (apologies if I have not spelt this correctly) was very polite, informative and friendly. We travelled approx 1.5 hours from our hotel in Marrakech to the High Atlas Mountains. We felt safe in the vehicle and stopped at a Argan oil co-operative on the way. When we arrived at the Imjil valley we had some nice mint tea before trekking up to a village where there were fantastic views of Mount Toubkal. We continued on the trails for a couple of miles to arrive in a traditional berber mountain village, where we sat on a roof-top terrace with the most amazing mountain views. We were served with a delicious meal, a traditional salad and bread, followed by a tagine with lamb meatballs and onions and some yoghurt and fruit. We decided to skip the camel ride but this was available to us on the return journey had we wanted to do it, in a nice area by the river with views of the mountains. In summary, a nice trip, friendly guide and good value - recommended!
Excellent trip. Professional good humoured guides. Covered much more ground as a small group. Rocky climb to waterfall would not suit people who don't hike. Good fun for those who can. Great lunch with spectacular view from local family hosts. Lucky? to meet like minded travellers
We appreciated having a thoughtful guide who told us about Berber life and traditions, a very comfortable visit to a Berber home and tasty, homemade meal. The scenery of the four valleys and Atlas Mountains was amazing. We also had a very kind and helpful guide for the hike to the waterfalls, which was slippery at times.
Very nice guide who showed us around to 4 valleys including nice climb to the waterfalls. Perfect to see a lot of the landscape and nature.
