Enjoy a convenient pick-up service from your hotel or accommodation, or any other location upon request. Then, you will be transferred to a traditional riad where you can learn more about Moroccan food culture and participate in a cooking class to learn how to prepare classic Moroccan dishes. Your knowledgeable chef will share the secrets of Moroccan cuisine, and you will experience the warm hospitality of the Berbers. You will have the opportunity to prepare your own chicken tagine with lemon and olives, or couscous with various vegetables, along with a selection of typical Moroccan salads and a delicious fruit-based dessert. After cooking, you can relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor with your cooking team in a friendly atmosphere. the activity was better than expected. The cooking course started in a private family with discussion on what should be cooked. Than we went to the local market to buy all the ingrediencies. In the kitchen the cook explained all steps, give a background on origin of different food, how the should be used. Tajin with chicken was one dish which was done. the other was minced sardelles (fish) baked in a tomato sauce. At the end we eat with the family.

There were no great cooking skills needed to attend this course but we left with a very good understanding of how to use and cook with the tagine that we had bought in the souk. The food that we cooked made for an excellent lunch shared with new made friends. The fact that the cookery school is a charitable foundation that provides education and prospects for young disadvantaged Moroccan women was an added bonus.
