Full description

Embark on a full-day tour to the Ouzoud Waterfalls from Marrakech. Learn about Berber culture as you explore the land. Descend winding trails and admire stunning views of the falls on a boat ride.

Begin with pickup from your hotel or riad, before departing for one of the most spectacular waterfalls in North Africa, located 93 miles (150 km) north of Marrakech. Upon arrival in the village of Ouzoud, admire views of the cascades that plunge 360 feet (110 meters) into the pool below. Follow your local guide through olive tree groves to an argan oil co-operative and learn about Berber culture.  Continue down a network of trails to a viewpoint where you can buy fresh orange juice. Board a traditional boat for a short ride on the pool at the bottom of the waterfalls. Then, enjoy a Berber lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the falls.

After, take 20 minutes of free time to take pictures, admire the views, or explore the souvenir stalls. In the mid-afternoon, climb a series of stairs for your transfer back to Marrakech.

We enjoyed the experience a lot. Although the trip is somewhat boring, 3 hour drive is never fun, it was worth once we got to the place. The waterfall is nice, not amazing (hardly any other waterfall is after you been on Iceland) but it really is a nice place to visit. Yussouf was an excelent guide, always available and fun to have around. He told us a lot about the Berbers and spent some time with us writting our names in both Arabic and Berber. Awesome expericence. Tips: - Take confortable shoes, the path is really steep and sleepery. - Bring a lot of water, the bottom of the waterfall is on a valey and of couse, if you go down, you must climb all the way up. - The boat trip is awesome. Be careful with cameras and phones. They WILL get wet!! - The meal is ok, entrances, main dish, desert, tea and a cookie. 100DH per person. Not the cheapest we found while in Morocco but accerptable. - In the restaurant, be careful of the monkeys. They will try to steal your food!

It was well organised, our guide Yousef and his helper/assistant did a fantastic job, always courteous, always helpful, always keeping a careful eye on the group and assisting where necessary. The guides spoke very good English and French and were very informative in all that is Ozoud and anything else Moroccan you may wish to know. Our driver although a little later than scheduled ( only10-15 minutes) was very polite , the company did contact us immediately they knew he would be late so a big tick in the box for that. All in all albeit a long drive it was a fantastic day.

Definitely would recommend this excursion to anyone. Me and my wife did it and we have no regrets. Views are stunning and the guide Yusuf was so lovely, kind and patient with us all. He was very knowledgeable about the berber people and culture and helped us understand the people better. There is a little hike to get to the bottom of the waterfall so please do bring sensible footwear with you. Boatride at the end was good too.
