Full description
Start at the iconic statue of Grgur Ninski in Strossmayer Park. Cycle to Split’s Green Market, a famous vegetable market and gather sustenance for the journey ahead. Peddle through the silver gate of Diocletian’s Palace, and head out to the Split Riva as you enjoy the sea breeze. Learn about many of the landmarks along the way from your guide who will provide much needed cultural and historical context. Travel along the Split west coast with a brief stop at Split’s Mestrovic museum dedicated to Croatia’s most famous sculptor and the creator of the Grgur Ninski statue. Pass by Obojena beach and Ksjuni beach. Visit the hermitage caves on Marjan Hill, built into the cliffs on the southern side of the hill just behind St. Jerome Church in the 15th century. Tour around Split’s iconic Marjan hill and enjoy the wonderful views of Kastela and Trogir in the distance as you take in the panorama of the Adriatic. Continue on to Split’s Jewish cemetery which offers a fascinating insight into the city's past. Turn into the vibrant district of Veli Varos before finishing the tour back at the statue you started out from. Enjoy the best cup of coffee in Split with your guide before you part ways.
