This hiking tour starts from the entrance to the Diocletian's Palace cellars and it will take us through the narrow streets of the old peasants' district of Varoš to the first viewpoint, next to the 16th century Jewish cemetery. From there, we will walk through pine tree forest next to an old abandoned zoo and favorite picnic spot for people of Split, all the way to the top of the hill on the elevation of 178 m above sea level. From the top you will be able to enjoy the view over the entire city and mountains surrounding it. From there, on a clear day, you can see all the central Adriatic islands. After stopping for a view and taking photos, our way will take us to an old hermitage of Saint Jerome. In this place hermits used to live in the dwellings that were built in the caves so that only the front façade is visible. After a photo stop, we follow our way down the hill past the church of Our Lady of Bethlehem and Saint Nicholas church back to the old town. Distance covered is about 6 km highest point is 178 m above sea level. Terrain is mostly gravel, with some concrete and asphalt.
