Marino Ballena National Park has no port of marina so is importan you know we get wet to go on board around your knees or a little bit up. Once we get into the boat starts the adventure to search for marine biodiversity ,Humpback whales, Dolphins and Turtles, Marine birds and great views of the coast line. Experience captain and tour guide will offer a great and knowledge experience about history and all details about the wonderful biodiversity that this National Park holds. After the time of search and enjoy the nature and species you will have time to get into the water to swim some minutes to refresh (important to mention we do not offer snorkeling due to the water close to the shore is not clear , just on dry season maybe is possible to do some snorkeling but really difficult to be honest ,so dont thrust about tour offered with snorkeling because is not possible during rainy season )for the tour we provide fresh pinneapple and watermelon ,filter water (please bring your bottle for refill lets avoid single use plastic).Once we get back from the tour you can stay into the national park to explore by yourself the trails,forest and the famous whales tail or tombolo formation we include the ticket in out tour so you are able to get in and out several times you want to before 6pm.Recomended to bring sandals or water shoes,sunscreen,bottle for water , dry bag,hats. The activity begins at our offices where upon arrival you must check-in with the guide(s) in charge of the group. There is a coffee, juice, cookies and water station so you can enjoy while the group gathers and then give a talk with the most important details of the activity and instructions from the guide. From the meeting point we will move in your own vehicles (if you do not have a vehicle we will take you to the entrance of the Marino Ballena Park where we take the boat) near the entrance of Playa Uvita we have a secure parking lot for your vehicles. Leaving from Playa Uvita the boat time from the starting point to Isla del Caño is around 90 minutes with the possibility of sighting dolphins and with luck humpback whales in season (January-April) upon arriving at the island we will prepare the snorkeling equipment to begin the adventure and explore the different snorkeling spots. The snorkeling time will be 2 hours divided into different points to make the most of the time and enjoy the marine life offered by the reefs of this biological reserve. The guide with his extensive naturalist experience will provide you with information and knowledge of the nature that can be observed as well as important details of the history surrounding Caño Island, which in the past was a refuge and sacred site for indigenous populations of Costa Rica and houses a great historical and cultural record and world cultural heritage. Being a protected area and a biological reserve, the measures and protocols must be followed, which is why it is important to mention that life jackets must be used at all times during the snorkeling activity (it is not negotiable) since the park rangers will be verifying at all times that the established protocols are met in order to carry out the activity. In this case, the guide will provide you with the correct information on the use of the vest for snorkeling. After the snorkeling activity, there will be a picnic lunch on a nearby beach on the coast, since food is not allowed on the island and it is uncomfortable to prepare lunch for the group on the boat, which is why for greater comfort we do it on a nearby beach. The activity begins at our offices where upon arrival you must check-in with the guide(s) in charge of the group. There is a coffee, juice, cookies and water station so you can enjoy while the group gathers and then give a talk with the most important details of the activity and instructions from the guide. From the meeting point we will move in your own vehicles (if you do not have a vehicle we will take you to the entrance of the Marino Ballena Park where we take the boat) near the entrance of Playa Uvita we have a secure parking lot for your vehicles. Leaving from Playa Uvita the boat time from the starting point to Isla del Caño is around 90 minutes with the possibility of sighting dolphins and with luck humpback whales in season (January-April) upon arriving at the island we will prepare the snorkeling equipment to begin the adventure and explore the different snorkeling spots. The snorkeling time will be 2 hours divided into different points to make the most of the time and enjoy the marine life offered by the reefs of this biological reserve. The guide with his extensive naturalist experience will provide you with information and knowledge of the nature that can be observed as well as important details of the history surrounding Caño Island, which in the past was a refuge and sacred site for indigenous populations of Costa Rica and houses a great historical and cultural record and world cultural heritage. Being a protected area and a biological reserve, the measures and protocols must be followed, which is why it is important to mention that life jackets must be used at all times during the snorkeling activity (it is not negotiable) since the park rangers will be verifying at all times that the established protocols are met in order to carry out the activity. In this case, the guide will provide you with the correct information on the use of the vest for snorkeling. After the snorkeling activity, there will be a picnic lunch on a nearby beach on the coast, since food is not allowed on the island and it is uncomfortable to prepare lunch for the group on the boat, which is why for greater comfort we do it on a nearby beach. The activity ends when we return to the same point where we took the boat in Playa Uvita.
