Spend a day exploring the wineries and vineyards in Bordeaux on a guided wine tasting trip. Sample wines at three wineries and tour the historic town of Saint-Emilion. Savor local specialties during a picnic at a Château (winery). Depart from the city center of Bordeaux to discover the most beautiful vineyards of both banks. To start, visit Saint-Emilion with your guide. Tour the village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and discover its historical monuments. Later, visit a Château (winery) and enjoy a tasting of 3 wines while learning about Saint-Émilion. During your tasting, your guide will prepare the picnic served at a lovely table during which you can enjoy a glass of wine from the Château. Enjoy food prepared by an artisanal and traditional Bordeaux caterer who offers fresh, local, and tasty products as well as Basque country charcuterie and cheese. In the beginning of the afternoon and after an-hour drive to go to the left bank, enjoy a visit and a tasting of 3 wines in a family running winery from the famous Médoc area (especially the Margaux appellation). Then, stop by the famous Château Margaux and take photos before heading to a third winery (classified in 1855, the Napoleon classification) where a commented wine tasting is waiting for you. Finish your tour with a new perspective on the art of winemaking.

Depart from the city center of Bordeaux and enjoy a scenic tour that takes you to prominent chateaus in the region. Taste wines, and learn about the unique qualities of wines produced by these appellations. At the 5th Grand Cru Classé, discover the history and architecture of the Château as you try its unique wines. Begin your tour with a visit to the Margaux appellation and learn about the history and methods they use in making their wines. Head to the first Chateau, and admire the surrounding vineyards while you learn about the different grape varieties used to produce the wines of the Margaux appellation. Take the opportunity to discuss with wine experts who will explain the production and winemaking techniques. Then, pass by the famous Chateau Margaux, and take a photo before going on to your second guided tour in a 5th Grand Cru classified Chateau. Discover the history and architecture of this iconic Château while tasting at least 3 of their wines. Departing from a central location in Bordeaux, this small group, half-day tour explores the beautiful Medoc wine-growing region of France. The region you will explore includes the southern region of the Medoc wine area. You will visit 2 wine estates of Classified Growth or Cru Bourgeois estates that have been carefully selected for their exceptional setting and quality of the wine.  Learn all there is to know about the history of the estate, the wine-making process, as well as the techniques used during wine-making. A wine tasting session follows the visits. After your tasting session, follow the castle road to see some of the most famous chateaus of the region, such as Chateau Margaux or Chateau Palmer.

Meet your guide at the tour agency and then hop into the van to enjoy a pleasant drive to Saint-Emilion. Enjoy a guided walking tour of this UNESCO-listed village, famous for its medieval architecture and monuments. After this, head to the village center for a wine-tasting session. Next, follow your guide around a winery and taste some more wine along the way. Afterward, have a picnic lunch at the winery, with a sandwich, local pastry, and a glass of wine included. Finish your lunch and go on a drive to Médoc, a famous wine-growing region. Arrive at the first winery here. Finish tasting wine at the first winery and then stop at another winery to taste more wine. Following this, return to Bordeaux and arrive back at the travel agency where you began the trip.

You will head towards the famous wine-producing appellations such as Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estephe. You will enjoy 3 visits in Classified Growth or Cru Bourgeois estates that have been carefully selected for their exceptional setting and quality of wine. You will learn all there is to know about the history of the estates, the wine making process, as well as the techniques used during wine making. A wine tasting session follows the visits. The Medoc area covers approximately 5,700 hectares of declared vineyards, producing an average 300,000 hectoliters of wine per year. Of the grape varieties permitted, 50% of the viticultural area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and to a lesser extent Petit Verdot and Malbec. Also allowed within the AOC regulations are the varieties Cabernet Franc and Carménère. After your tasting sessions, follow the castle road to see some of the most famous châteaux of the region, such as Chateau Margaux, Chateau Palmer, or Chateau Pichon Longueville.

Explore two wineries, both classified as Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés, all in one visit: First, discover a traditional winery with an authentic cellar and typical architecture of Saint-Emilion, producing a traditional style of wine for the region. The second winery is forward-looking, with a modern cellar and cutting-edge technology. Discover how the winemakers use current technology and viticulture techniques to produce a different, innovative style of wine. Followed by a commented tasting of 3 of our wines. To conclude your experience, you will enjoy a tasty plate of local charcuterie and cheese, along with a glass of your chosen wine of the day: Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Margaux, Bordeaux Supérieur, White or Rosé. While you appreciate the stunning views from our outdoor seating areas.

9:00 AM: Meet your guide in the center of Bordeaux and drive to the Medoc wine region.
