Full description
Come along for a tour of Manila’s past and present. The tour starts right in the heart of the country’s financial center - the City of Makati. First stop is Nielsen’s Tower along Ayala Boulevard. Drive through Forbes Park, an exclusive residential enclave fittingly dubbed Millionaire’s Row on your way to our first stop – The American Cemetery and Memorial - reputed to be the largest and most beautiful of American memorials outside the Continental United States. Then proceed to the old city of Manila via scenic Roxas Boulevard (also known as Dewey Boulevard in the recent past), passing through Luneta Park (also called Rizal Park in memory of the country’s national hero) on your way to the "Walled City" of Intramuros. Here you will see ancient walls, church ruins and other relics of the Spanish Conquistadores. Travel through the cobbled streets to San Agustin Church, the oldest stone church in the country. Then we wrap the tour up with a visit to Fort Santiago, a Spanish fortress that watched over the entrance to Manila’s Pasig River. It was here that our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal spent his last days and where he wrote his famous "My Last Farewell."

Very enjoyable and informative. A lot of driving and while comfortable traffic sometimes made it slow going. we did stop and walk around the cemetery, Fort Santiago and some lovely old churches. Maybe another stop in the "new" part of the tour would have improved as lots of this was just a drive by. Guide was great - very informed and knowledgeable and driver was amazing especially given the traffic.

RJ was clearly a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. He had really good energy and his english was very good and was easy to understand. I feel he went that bit extra on several occasions in the tour to give us the best experience possible. I would highly recommend this tour. Regards, Gavin & Rebecca Gold Coast Australia

RJ our guide and Mark our driver were excellent. RJ was funny and informative, we loved learning about the Philippino culture and history. The only reason I gave transportation a 3 is because it was not readily apparent that our hotel in Metro Manila was not a pick up site and we had to get a taxi to and from another hotel. Beware… Friday afternoon traffic is horrific, it took us over an hour to go 3 miles in a taxi back to our hotel. RJ went above and beyond, he stayed with us to help get a taxi and honestly if he hadn’t I don’t think a taxi would have responded to us. This tour was an excellent introduction to Manila and all four of us were glad we did it, but would recommend choosing the early tour.
