What You'll Do
  • Driving tour through the CCP Complex and Rizal Park
  • Visits to the San Agustin Church Museum, Casa Manila and the National Museum
Discover the Philippines´ rich history in Manila's museums. Travel back in time to the country's Spanish colonial past that has set its culture and traditions apart from the rest of its Asian neighbors.
What to Expect
Drive through the Mall of Asia complex, the Coconut Palace, the iconic Cultural Center of the Philippines and Rizal Park. In the heart of Manila glimpse the Philippines´ rich history and diversified culture by visiting three of its Museums.

In the heart of the Walled City of Intramuros, we will visit Casa Manila, a reconstructed Spanish home from the mid-1800s. This colonial lifestyle museum showcases the lifestyle of upper class Filipinos at the turn of the century.

Right across from Casa Manila is the San Agustin Church and Museum. First constructed in 1571, the present structure was completed in 1604, using a design so stable that earthquakes (the bane of the Philippines´ baroque churches) could not topple it. It is Manila´s first European stone church of Spanish design and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. Beside the Church is the Museum featuring a rich collection of Spanish-era church vestments, furniture and religious artwork.

Our last stop is the National Museum which displays artifacts recovered from sunken Spanish Galleons that transported goods between the Philippines and Mexico. Its most renowned collection is that of the “San Diego,” one of the galleons that plied the Manila-Acapulco trade. A typhoon sunk the galleon full of Chinese porcelain, gold, jewelry and weapons.
