Things to do in Manaus

Overall, I had a great time seeing some of the beautiful diversity of the Amazon on this affordable adventure. The experience was more rustic and "authentic" than I had expected. The DIY kayaking was a perfect and relaxing when I arrived. The 3-day trip involved taking a small outboard motor boat up and down small rivers to see many animals and birds and trees/plants, as well as hiking through the forest, and camping out in the forest overnight. The area is beautiful and somewhat remote (accessible only by boat), so I got to see how communities live by the water. The cabin was very clean and the shower worked well (greatly appreciated in the heat). The food was fresh and made with love. The owners were kind and a great joy to meet. The guide, Gregorio was not very knowledgeable/experienced in biology/ecology, unfortunately, but he was nice and seemed to care about our safety. He spoke fluent Spanish+Portuguese, but his moderate level of English (some mistakes) caused some confusion.
