What to Expect
Venture into the Amazon jungle on a full-day tour from Manaus, with pick-ups from your hotel or Manaus Airport.

Following your pick-up, travel by boat along the right margin of the Negro River. Go to the Museum of the Rubber Plantation in Vila Paraíso (Paradise Village) to learn more about the crop that made the region rich. Learn how the people that worked on the rubber plantations lived and worked, and travel back to the heyday of the “Rubber Circle.”

Go to one of the rubber plantation houses, and see the rubber smoking hut. Marvel at scenery used in the film “A Selva” (“The Jungle”). Next, meet members of the Tatuyos Indian community to learn more about the indigenous people of the region. Watch a ritual dance that reflects their culture.

Next, swim with pink river dolphins at Acajatuba Lake. Interact with the shy creatures for 45 minutes, and watch them being fed by their handler. Continue to the São Thomé community for lunch at the Taperebá self service restaurant. Savor regional foods, such as meat, fish, salads, and sides. After lunch, return to Manaus mid-afternoon.
