Very relaxing trip on the Amazon for five days. Caught up on a lot of sleep, as did the majority of other passengers when I walked from the cabin past the hammock areas. Booked a two-bunk berth with aircon and bathroom. While considerably more expensive than the deck option, the added comfort and privacy was worth it. Minimal marine and bird life spotted though that was expected as the vessel follows the middle of the waterway. It was more about the journey, viewing the settlements in the banks and the other boats using the river. There was one choice per dinner but that was fine and importantly there were no repercussions with either of the three meals. Cellphone cover is available at some ports of call. We overnighted at Santarem. After eight months of pretty much travelling this was the ideal way to unwind at a languid pace. I booked at late notice, two days before departure, but communication was good and the transfer to the boat smooth. Bon Voyage.

The activity itself is amazing and really a special experience. You can get in contact with local people and a nice special way to travel. When it comes to the organisation of the tour operator i was not totally satisfied. Of course things might change. But there were too many things unclear and uncoordinated. I booked and payed a hammock, they first did not know about this. On the day itself 3 different driver contacted me and the one that got me put me first on the wrong boat. I then had to change and learned that i was placed on the cheapest boat possible. I was informed by the tour operator that we stay 6 hours in Santarem, but that was wrong the schedule was one night and half a day in the port. I would have arranged it differently if I would have been informed correctly. Again the trip is very nice, the organisation from the organisator should be improved.

The trip from Manaus to Belem was a really cool adventure!! As there are just few tourists on board, you get in touch with the local people. I had so much fun with some of them, while drinking a beer together, or just having a chat about some myths about the amazonian river. Luckily we saw both kinds of the river dolphins and got fresh shrimps to eat. I can just highly recomend the trip, it‘s a beautiful experience!! Just check the date of the arrival for Hotel reservations in Belém. The ticket says „5 days journey“ but in our case it was just 4 days... We left Manaus on a Wednesday at about 10:00 a.m. and arrived on Saturday at about 04:00 p.m. In Belém.
