Full description
Visit three of Malta's most distinct attractions on this half-day tour in the heart of the island. Explore the town of Mosta and stop in at the Church of St. Mary, which features one of the largest domes in the world. On April 9, 1942 a German bomb pierced the dome and fell among a congregation of more than 300 people, but did not explode. The event has become legendary, with many regarding it as a miracle. A replica of the bomb can be seen in the church's sacristy. Then visit the nearby village of Ta'Qali, where a former British military outpost has been converted into handicraft workshops. Here you can watch local artisans at work blowing elaborate glass art pieces, intricately assembling silver filigree jewelery, and carving local limestone. Finish with a visit to Mdina, Malta's ancient capital and one of the world's best medieval fortifications. Admire panoramic views of the entire Maltese landscape, and visit St. Paul's Cathedral ̶ built on the site where governor Publius was reported to have met St. Paul following his shipwreck off the Maltese coast.

I originally booked the German-speaking tour, but the guide fell ill at short notice. I was informed of this by email in the morning and then decided to take part in the English-speaking tour. My guide Mark (whom I already knew from a previous tour) was really great again. You could understand him very well and he knew an answer to all questions immediately. In Mosta there was enough time to look at the rotunda in peace and see the cannonball. The story behind it was heard beforehand. In the handicraft village (silver jewelry and glassblowing) it was shown on site how the things are produced and you had the opportunity to buy souvenirs. In Mdina there was a walking tour at a comfortable pace. You didn't have to rush yourself and could stop anywhere and take photos.

Same French Guide as for the 3 cities and the wine tasting A little wait to pick up a Minibus which took me to MOSTA to join the Main bus with the guide and visit the basilica. Visit of 2 Artisanal shops (one for making silver jewelry and the other for glass blowing) Visit of MDINA with the possibility of staying on site to visit the city of RABAT and return by MALTESE public transport

Very quick visit to Mostra Church, then some craft shops ( ok if you are into that), then onto M'dina for an hour and a quarter. Doesn't sound long but it really is plenty of time to see this charming place. Leave the guide to explore yourself ( guided tour definitely not needed- place is tiny and impossible to get lost), and you would even have time to have a meal there. Guide was great, pick up OK. Good value and back in Valetta at 2pm.
