What to Expect
Festas, or parish feasts, are a strong tradition in Malta, and they are celebrated spectacularly. One or more festas are going on every weekend, and we will take you to one in time for the fireworks!
Following pick-up from your hotel on Malta Island, your English-speaking guide tells you about places of interest along the way to the festa village.
Once you arrive in the village, a visit to the Parish Church, splendidly decorated to fit the occasion, is a must. Then take in the unique festa atmosphere with a leisurely stroll around the village streets, all beautifully lit up, and filled with stalls selling traditional festa sweets-
The fireworks display often begins with the traditional Giggifogu, a whirl of light and colors made by flares on spinning wheels, while the music of the marching village brass bands fills the air.
