2. Jasper: Maligne Valley Wildlife Watching & Boat Tour

Experience magical mountains, alpine meadows and thrilling rivers on this 5.5-hour tour to the Maligne Valley from Jasper. Your professional guide will expand on this inscrutable place during an immersive narrative. During the summer season you can join an inclusive boat cruise to Spirit Island, the only means of reaching the isolated island, for serene views of the stunning alpine scenery. During the rest of the year you can enjoy a guided hike along the Mary Schaffer Loop. Depending on the time of the year, you will enjoy wildlife viewings in the area around Maligne Canyon, including moose, sheep, caribou and bears. Jamie and Jake were excellent tour guides. Bus was great- big windows so plenty opportunities to see everything. Guides had an unbelievable amount of knowledge to share and we’re clearly passionate about the flora and fauna of the area. Animal sightings can’t be guaranteed but we saw osprey, bald eagle, elk, mule deer and a moose.

A brilliant time with our very knowledgable guide, Ross. We were very fortunate and saw lots of wildlife, bears, marmots, elk, coyote, osprey and a bald eagle sat on its nest. As the lake was still frozen and the trails were covered in ice and snow, we had a hike around the canyon instead. A great tour, would highly recommend it.

Very informative. It was great to look and listen rather than having my nose in a map trying to figure out what I’m looking at. History of the area was interesting

It was good to hear about different places that we were not aware of.

Tricky getting started but great info made for a super ride
