Full description
Begin at Plaza de la Constitución and the famous Calle Larios. Continue to the Cathedral, Roman Theatre and Alcazaba, then the gorgeous subtropical park of Paseo del Parque, just by the new Port of Malaga. Walk along the Moorish narrow streets in the Old Town, and discover famous monuments and local's favourite hidden corners. Learn about the fascinating history of the city, which dates back over 3000 years. You will discover the story behind "La Farola", the Málaga Lighthouse located in La Malagueta Beach. Learn why grilled sardines or espetos are so important in the gastronomy of Costa del Sol. After this, start a short hike on a paved path up to the highest viewpoint in Malaga. Your guide will show you the remains of the Old Moorish Fortress Wall on the way up, and will tell you how life in Malaga changed after the Christian reconquest. When you get to the top and reach the viewpoint, be amazed by the breathtaking views of Malaga Bay. Relax. admire the beautiful sunset, and take some beautiful photos. Return to the City Center and your guide will give you some useful tips and advice to get the most out of your stay in the city.

It was interesting to hear all the fascinating facts of Malaga's history. I learnt a lot & love the city even more now! Our tour guide was excellent & extremely informative & friendly. Even though it was suggested to wear comfortable walking shoes, I think it needs to be mentioned that there are several steep steps & hilly areas to climb, so not recommended for anyone with foot or leg 'issues'. We had 1 lady in our group who missed the stunning port/city/garden views as she couldn't manage the steep climb to the viewing point above. I felt bad for her, though she had an amazing attitude & our guide was extremely apologetic. Just a thought to mention this, I feel is important. I also thought we were going to a 'special area' to view the sunset, so I totally misinterpreted the advert! My husband loves sunsets & this tour was part of his birthday present, so that was incredibly disappointing. However, our smiling, courteous & pretty guide made up for any miscommunications! 😇

Loved the tour, Nicoletta was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Went up to the Castillo de Gibralfaro (prepare for the steep climb). The view was worth it but unfortunately couldn’t see the sunset as the tour started at 5 and the sun wasn’t gonna set till about 8:39PM but enjoyed it regardless. It was a lovely view
