Full description
Take a guided day trip from Malaga to Cordoba by bus. Explore the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Spain’s most visited monuments, with entry tickets included. Stroll the charming streets of the Jewish Quarter on a walking tour and marvel at the ancient Synagogue. Take the bus from Malaga, stop in Lucena during 30 minutes to have a breakfast or take a quick walk, a typical village of Cordoba, and after this reach the historic center of Cordoba. Cross the Roman Bridge, famous for being the setting for the hit TV show Game of Thrones. Follow your guide on a 1-hour walk through a well-preserved historic neighborhood of the Caliphate city, the Jewish quarter of Cordoba. Take a stroll down the famous street of Calleja de las Flores, also known as the Handkerchief Lane. Pass by the Synagogue of Cordoba, the only synagogue that has been preserved in Andalusia after the expulsion of the Jews in 1492. Continue to one of the most important squares in the middle of the Jewish quarter, Plaza Maimónides. See its characteristic bronze statue of Maimónides, in honor of this famous Cordobian Jewish philosopher and physician. Then, head to the Patio de los Naranjos to start a guided tour of the Great Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, one of Spain’s most celebrated monuments. Learn how the opulent house of worship was originally built as a mosque in the 8th century and later converted into a cathedral. Later, get some free time to stroll through the historic center of the city. See key monuments like the Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs, the Plaza de la Corredera, and the Patios de San Basilio. Try local gastronomy such as flamenquines (fried pork rolls) or salmorejo (cold tomato soup). Finally, meet your guide at the pre-decided time to start your return journey to Malaga.

The trip was fine except somewhat spoilt by an hour wasted in visiting Lucena. This was billed as a village worth a look at. It is in fact a city with 40,000 + inhabitants. It seemed to have no redeeming features, a long walk from the coach to an uninteresting. square with a sad cafe and a long walk back to the coach. Didn't see any enthusiasm from anyone on the trip

The day tour in Cordoba was great. Juanjo is THE perfect guide, special award for him ! He gave us useful explanations and details about this wonderful place. But I'm not totally satisfied of the guided tour in Cordoba : in the Mezquita, at the beginning of the visit, we spent too many time at the same place without moving (half an hour), listening to the explanations of the guide. It was very long and I would have like to walk along this beautiful place discovering it. And the explanations were too detailed for me and I think other people didn't listen at the end. Despite this I really enjoyed the tour. Thank you Juanjo !

Overall the trip was excellent. However there was very limited free time. The 20 minute break in Lucene was insufficient for a toilet break and coffee. And also again at the Mosque Cathedral a little more free time to walk around the Mosque would have been nice.
