Full description

Discover the Caminito del Rey on this guided day trip from Costa del Sol. Hike along footbridges and trails as you learn about the interesting history of the path.

Meet your guide and begin your tour at the Conde del Guadalhorce Dam. Take an easy and safe route by bus along nearly 8 kilometers of footbridges and trails. Enjoy breakfast to start your day of adventuring. Follow your guide from the town of Ardales to the town of Álora. Learn about the history of the path and its inauguration by King Alfonso XIII in 1905. Find out why it was declared one of the most dangerous trails in the world when it was built, and why now after its renovation, it's safe. Enjoy an adrenaline rush as you cross the Desfiladero de Los Gaitanes, a narrow footbridge anchored to the rock and suspended in the air. Be thrilled at the end as you cross the suspension bridge, more than 100 meters high. Next, enjoy about 1 hour of free time in Ardales to explore and visit the Pueblo Blanco. After exploring, meet your bus and head back to your pick-up location.

The sights and overall tour was very exciting and unique. Our guide in caminito del rey, Carlos, was fantastic and made the whole experience for us. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, answering all sorts of questions. Of course you can visit caminito del rey on your own, but the connivence of the round trip transportation and fantastic guide made this well worth the money.

Have good walking shoes! The sites are incredible and the hike is quite unique. Our guide was very informative and friendly. The primary con was that the group is SO large, so it's slow going compared to a pace someone would typically walk. The place we stopped for the free breakfast (just a piece of large bread with some things to spread on???) and paid lunch later was not very good. I'd recommend allocating about 30 mins at the end spot of the hike for drinks and food or just push through back to drop off point so travellers can get lunch after the activity is officially finished.

what a stunning experience I had! it is a must but if you dont like height then it is not for you. as you need to pass a metal bridge between the split of mountains and expect steep narrow wooden steps going up but the experience you will have cannot be compared with others for sure. It was in my bucket list and now the box is ticked!. it is your turn :) we stopped twice. one was for Spanish breakfast on the way and the other one was on the way back for lunch (almuerzo). I tasted local tapas there for my lunch and it was amazing. over all, I loved it so much! even for elderly people (if you are fit) it is doable. not a fast paced trip. enjoy yours!
