Every year the greatest creatures on earth swim from the Bering Sea in Alaska to the south of this American continent in search of temperate waters where they can procreate. Fortunately for those of us who live in the Baja California Peninsula, the warm and adequate temperature they need is found precisely in these latitudes. This magnificent event, which begins in December and lasts until March, is one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences anyone can witness. While the migration of the Gray Whale, with a journey of approximately 7,500 kilometers, has as its main destination the Magdalena Bay in Baja California Sur, a place located about 400 kilometers north of Cabo San Lucas; they also have other destinations and purposes further south, such as in the waters of the Sea of Cortez and Gulf of California, and also in other states of southwestern Mexico, such as Jalisco. Thanks to this extra whale tour, which extends further south of Magdalena Bay, gray whale watching in Los Cabos is a daily delight during the season.
