  • Completely closed: The borders are open only for citizens, residents returning home, or other people with essential duties.
  • Partially closed: The borders are open for some travelers, usually depending on their citizenship or the countries they are coming from. 
  • No restrictions: There are no general entry restrictions, but the domestic recommendations may change into restrictions.

Europe

 
Can I travel to the U.K?
The entry restrictions have been lifted, but some travelers may self-isolate for 14 days. Quarantine is no longer mandatory in England for citizens of more than 50 countries. Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales have also been allowing travelers from many low-risk countries to visit them without having to self-isolate. Slovenia, Malta, Aruba, Belgium, France, Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Hungary, Portugal and some Greek islands were recently removed from this list, therefore a 2-week self-isolation period is now mandatory for travelers coming to the UK.
 
Can I travel domestically in the U.K?
Yes, you can travel inside the United Kingdom and visit open spaces at any distance, but remember to follow the sanitary and social distancing rules wherever you go. Generally, the national parks are open, but it is always a good idea to double check before visiting, in order to avoid any inconvenience.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in the U.K?
Restaurants, bars, hotels, outdoor swimming pools and other venues are open until 10 P.M. Social gatherings are now limited to 6 people.
 
Can I leave the U.K?
Yes, the borders are open.
 
If I travel to the U.K, will I need to quarantine?
No, if coming from an authorized country. The green listed areas can be found here.
 
Can I bring relatives to visit me in the U.K.?
Yes, but they will have to self-isolate if they are not coming from an authorized country.

Germany

 
Can I travel to Germany?
Yes, restrictions have been lifted for EU and Schengen countries and the UK. Travelers coming from the following non-EU countries are also welcomed to Germany: Australia, Georgia, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay. However, quarantine is required for those coming from risk areas, unless they can show a negative PCR test done maximum 48 hours before entering the country. The risk areas can be found here.
 
Can I travel domestically in Germany?
Yes, but social distancing requirements (including the 1,5-metre rule) are in place across the whole country.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Germany?
Restaurants are allowed to serve guests and hotels have also resumed their activity for both residents and travelers.
 
Can I leave Germany?
Yes, restrictions have been replaced by individual travel warnings for each country.
 
If I travel to Germany, will I need to quarantine?
No, if you are coming from an authorized country.
 
Can I return to Germany without quarantine?

Can I bring relatives to visit me in Germany?
Yes, citizens of EU member states and their families, as well as citizens of the United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and some non-EU countries are allowed to enter Germany.

Italy

 
Can I travel to Italy?
EU and Schengen area citizens (including the UK) can enter Italy for any purposes (including tourism). Travelers coming from Malta, Spain, Greece, or Croatia have to present a negative test. Travelers coming from Romania or Bulgaria need to self-isolate for 14 days. Italy has restricted access to travelers coming from the following states: Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, Kuwait, North Macedonia, Moldova, Oman, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic. Visitors coming from Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay are allowed to enter Italy for tourism purposes as well, but they need to self-isolate for 14 days.
 
Can I travel domestically in Italy?
Yes. Bans were lifted, but depending on the province, there might be different rules.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Italy?
Restaurants, leisure facilities, and other businesses, as well as sport centers and sightseeing locations are open, providing social distancing is enforced.
 
Can I leave Italy?
There are no restrictions on exiting Italy, but you should also check with the destination country if you are allowed to enter.
 
If I travel to Italy, will I need to quarantine?
The mandatory quarantine was lifted in June for people arriving from the following countries: Most members of the European Union, other Schengen Area members (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland), The United Kingdom, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City. Self-isolation for 14 days is still required if you are coming from Algeria, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Republic of Korea, Romania, Thailand, Tunisia, or Uruguay.
 
Can I bring relatives to visit me in Italy?
Yes, if they are coming from the authorized countries mentioned above.

France

 
Can I travel to France?
Yes, the borders are open for touristic purposes for travelers coming from the European area (EU, Schengen area and the UK), as well as for several other countries: Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay.
 
Can I travel domestically in France?
Yes, the domestic travel ban has been lifted. It is mandatory to wear a mask when using public transportation or if you are in a public space.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in France?
Restaurants and cafes are now open, with health measures in place. Most museums are open, including the Louvre Museum.
 
Can l leave France?
There are no restrictions on leaving the country, as long as you can enter your destination country.
 
If I travel to France, will I need to quarantine?
Travelers from the following countries do not need to quarantine: all countries in the EU, Andorra, Australia, Canada, Georgia, the Holy See, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Rwanda, San Marino, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Kingdom and Uruguay.
 
Can I return to France without quarantine?
The same restrictions apply to travelers returning to France, as do to all travelers to France.
 
Can I bring relatives to visit me in France?
As long as they follow quarantine requirements listed above, people may visit for family reasons.

Spain

 
Can I travel to Spain?
Spain lifted the travel restrictions for EU and Schenghen countries, and also for the UK. Therefore, if you are an European citizen, you can travel to Spain now. Moreover, citizens coming from other non-EU countries can enter Spain: Australia, Georgia, Canada, Japan, Rwanda, New Zealand, Tunisia, Thailand, South Korea, Uruguay and China.
 
Can I travel domestically in Spain?
Yes, domestic travel is now allowed across the entire country. However, local lockdowns might occur due to the recent new wave of infections, so it is always a good idea to check with the local authorities before going somewhere.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Spain?
Museums are allowed to open, ensuring safety measures. Restaurants and hotels are open as well, but nightclubs are now closed again.
 
Can I leave Spain?
There are no restrictions on leaving the country, as long as you can enter your destination country.
 
If I travel to Spain, will I need to quarantine?
No, if you are coming from an authorized country.

Portugal

 
Can I travel to Portugal?
Travel restrictions for Portugal mainland have been lifted for EU, the UK and Schengen citizens, as well as for those coming from the following countries: Australia, Canada, China, South Korea, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay. Travelers to Madeira or Azores have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or take one on arrival and self-isolate until they receive the result.
 
Can I travel domestically in Portugal?
Yes, travel within Portugal is possible, but there are stricter regulations for the Lisbon area. Masks are mandatory in public spaces on Madeira island.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Portugal?
Restaurants, cafes, stores, book shops, and libraries are now open for business. Beaches are also open, but visitors are still advised to keep a 1.5 meter distance and to avoid sports involving multiple people. Nautical activities like boating and surfing are permitted. Attractions that are already open include zoos, aquariums, museums, monuments, palaces, art galleries and other cultural spaces. Cinemas, theaters, auditoriums, and showrooms are accessible with reduced capacity, marked seats, and mandatory social distance.
 
Can I leave Portugal?
Yes, there are no restrictions on exiting the country.
 
If I travel to Portugal, will I need to quarantine?
No, unless your test results are positive for COVID-19.
 
Can I bring relatives to visit me in Portugal?
Yes, respecting quarantine measures or having a negative test depending on the country they are coming from.

Denmark

 
Can I travel to Denmark?
Denmark opened borders for most European citizens. Travelers coming from an „orange” listed country are still not allowed to enter for tourism purposes. The list is regularly updated here.

You can travel to Sweden if you are coming from the EU, the UK, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. Swedish borders never fully closed.

Yes, travel within Switzerland is permitted. Most services, shops and several leisure facilities have also resumed their activity. Public transport returned to the standard timetable. People are encouraged to wear face coverings during rush hour.

Many restaurants, leisure facilities, and other businesses, as well as parks and sightseeing locations are open. Schools and places of worship are likewise open. Public transportation is fully operational.

International travel is still restricted. Land borders with Iran and Georgia are closed to most travelers. Only Georgian and Armenian citizens are allowed to return home.

Austria

 
Can I travel to Austria?
Travelers from most European countries (including the UK) can now visit Austria without restrictions. Other EU visitors coming from countries like Sweden, Portugal, Romania, Croatia, Spain, or Bulgaria, need to present a negative PCR test done in the last 72 hours before entering the country or to ensure quarantine if they will stay in Austria. Transiting the country without a stopover is allowed without presenting a test. The full list of exempted countries is regularly updated here.
 
Can I travel domestically in Austria?
Public transport is open. Social distancing and face masks are required when using public transportation, taxis, and other transport providers.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Austria?
Parks, swimming pools, Federal Gardens, playgrounds, indoor leisure facilities, gyms, cinemas, and hotels are allowed to reopen. Shops are open, but are subject to occupancy restrictions. Restaurants, bars, and coffee shops are open with restrictions. Masks are not required in restaurants, but reservations are recommended. However, masks are required in supermarkets and other public spaces.
 
Can I leave Austria?
Yes, there are no restrictions on leaving the country.

Belgium

 
Can I travel to Belgium?

Yes, domestic travel is permitted. However, the „contacts bubble” was reduced to 5 people. For official events, gatherings are permitted up to 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors, while face covering is mandatory. For private activities the limit is 10 people.

Museums, historic buildings, monuments, castles, citadels, and zoos are open, with digital ticketing systems and overcrowding preventions. Libraries remain open. Cafeterias, restaurants, bars, and playgrounds are also open, with time restrictions.

The restaurants, bars and cafes are open.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

 
Can I travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina?
Citizens of Croatia, Serbia or Montenegro may enter the country without any restrictions. Other EU or Schengen area citizens have to present a negative PCR test done in the previous 48 hours. Sarajevo airport is now open to passenger traffic.
 
Can I travel domestically in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
Yes, travel within Bosnia and Herzegovina is now free, provided travelers wear a mask in crowded spaces.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
Restaurants and cafes throughout the country are open, along with most other businesses. There are still social distance restrictions in many places. Grocery stores, and pharmacies continue to operate under social distancing conditions.
 
Can I leave Bosnia and Herzegovina?
Yes, the airport in Sarajevo is now open.
 
If I travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, will I need to quarantine?
No, quarantine is not required for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, or Montenegro. Other nationalities can enter the country only with a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours.
 
Can I return to Bosnia and Herzegovina without quarantine?
Quarantine and self-isolation requirements have been lifted for locals and for citizens of European countries, requiring a negative test for most of them.

Bulgaria

 
Can I travel to Bulgaria?
Yes, you can visit Bulgaria without having to self-isolate if coming from the EU or Schengen countries, as well as from the following third countries: Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay, Ukraine, and Jordan. Travelers from the following countries may also enter Bulgaria but they should self-isolate or present a negative test: North Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Moldova, Israel, and Kuwait.
 
Can I travel domestically in Bulgaria?
Yes, there are currently no restrictions on domestic travel in Bulgaria.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Bulgaria?
Most businesses are open, provided they perform wet cleaning and disinfection of floors and surfaces.
 
Can I leave Bulgaria?
Yes, provided that there are no entry restrictions for your destination country.

Croatia

 
Can I travel to Croatia?
Yes, travel to Croatia is permitted for European citizens and their families. Third country citizens may also enter Croatia with a negative test done in the last 48 hours before arrival.
 
Can I travel domestically in Croatia?
Yes, movement within the country is no longer restricted. Public transportation has resumed, including air, land and rail travel as well as boat connections for islands.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Croatia?
All shops are open and bars and restaurants are now able to serve patrons indoors again, as long as social distancing and hygiene rules are enforced.
 
Can I leave Croatia?
Yes, travel out of Croatia is permitted.
 
If I travel to Croatia, will I need to quarantine?
No, quarantine is no longer mandatory. However, if you have come in contact with an infected person, you might have to quarantine for 14 days.
 
Can I bring relatives to visit me in Croatia?
Relatives can visit from within the European Union, without restrictions. If coming from other countries, negative tests are required.

Cyprus

 
Can I travel to Cyprus?
Leisure travel with no restrictions from a limited number of countries is allowed: Austria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland. Travelers coming from Andorra, Australia, Belgium, China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Holy See (Vatican City State), Italy, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Rwanda, San Marino, Spain, Thailand, the UK, Tunisia, Uruguay will need a PCR test done 72 hours prior to their arrival in Cyprus. Other travelers can enter Cyprus only for essential purposes, with mandatory isolation.
 
Can I travel domestically in Cyprus?
Yes, domestic travel restrictions have been lifted.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Cyprus?
Parks, squares, marinas, beaches, and similar spaces are open. Restaurants are allowed to serve customers in outdoor areas. Barbershops, beauty salons, massage parlors, and tattoo parlors, and gambling parlors are allowed to open. All forms of religious worship, weddings, baptisms, and funerals are allowed, but must follow safety protocols. Libraries, museums, archaeological and historical sites, and ports (except for cruise passengers) are allowed to operate.

Some flights out of Cyprus have now resumed. There are no restrictions on leaving the country.

Czech Republic

Yes, domestic travel is permitted.

Can I travel to Estonia?
Yes, travel to Estonia is permitted for EU/Schengen citizens with no respiratory symptoms. Self-isolation is required for travelers arriving from a country that has a higher infection rate than 16/100000. This list is regularly updated here. . Travelers coming from several non-EU countries are also allowed to enter Estonia if they show no symptoms: Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay.
 
Can I travel domestically in Estonia?
Yes, there are currently no restrictions on domestic travel.
 
What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in Estonia?
Public places including shops and shopping centers, restaurants, beaches, and hiking trails are now open, but people should maintain a 2m distance. Saunas, spas, swimming pools, and water centers, as well as other leisure-time establishments may open, including bowling, billiards, and playrooms for children.
 
Can I leave Estonia?
There are no legal restrictions on exiting Estonia.
 
If I travel to Estonia, will I need to quarantine?
Yes, if you are coming from a country with an infection rate above 16/100000. The list of countries for which quarantine is mandatory is updated every Friday.

International travelers can visit Dubai with health measures in place. All new visitors are required to present a negative COVID-19 test done in the previous 4 days. Restaurants and attractions are open, respecting social distancing and other hygiene regulations.

Afghanistan

Some commercial flights are now available. The land border with Iran is now open. New visitors are encouraged to self-isolate for 14 days if not showing symptoms. If travelers are displaying a fever, they will be hospitalized.

Azerbaijan

Air and land travel have been suspended. All visitors need to quarantine for 14 days in a state facility.

Bangladesh

Public transportation, including domestic flights, are now operating with reduced capacity. Commercial flights have resumed but there still are entry restrictions for citizens of the following countries: Bahrain, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, the Maldives, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and the UAE.

Bahrain

International travel is very limited. Residents or long-term visa holders may return, but everyone will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival. A 14-day quarantine is mandatory for all visitors. Masks are mandatory in public spaces.

Bhutan

The country is on lockdown. Bhutan nationals may enter the country, but they will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Brunei

International travel is restricted. Foreign citizens are not allowed to enter the country for tourism purposes. All visitors are required to take a COVID-19 test and quarantine for 14 days in a state-designated facility.

Cambodia

International travel is now possible, but travelers need to present a negative COVID-19 test dated no longer than 72 hours prior to arrival. All travelers must also be insured medically with a coverage of minimum 50000$. Travelers will be tested upon arrival and will be quarantined in a state facility if they test positive. If they test negative, travelers are allowed to self-isolate at home. At the end of the quarantine period, travelers will be tested for the second time.

Iran

UAE nationals can no longer enter Iran. Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau nationals are now required to obtain visas. Quarantine is mandatory for all new visitors.

Iraq

Airports and borders are open, but only a limited number of flights is available. The restaurants are open only for take away/delivery. Negative PCR tests are mandatory for everyone entering the country.

Israel

Travel to Israel is prohibited. Nationals and permanent residents may return home, but they need to quarantine for 14 days in a state facility or in their own homes, provided there are no other people living in that housing unit. Public transportation is also not available to new visitors.

Jordan

International commercial flights are now available, but passengers need to complete their travel declaration form and quarantine might be required. The entire registration process is carefully described here.

Kazakhstan

International travel is currently limited to nationals, residents and other few exceptional cases. New visitors will be tested for COVID-19 and quarantined for 2 days. In case they test positive, they will be hospitalized. If they test negative, they can quarantine at home for the remaining 12 days. The Smart Astana App is helping citizens cope with quarantine measures. Domestic travel between major cities, including the capital, is also restricted.

Kuwait

International commercial flights are now available and the borders are open for most countries. Restrictions are still in place for travelers coming from Bangladesh, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Iran or Nepal.

Kyrgyzstan

International travel by land or air is suspended. Nationals and their immediate relatives may return home.

Laos

International travel by land or air is suspended. A 14-day quarantine is mandatory for all citizens returning home.

Lebanon

International travel by land or air is suspended. A 14-day quarantine is mandatory for all new arrivals.

Maldives

The Maldives resumed international commercial flights, but cruise ships are still not allowed to enter and dock. Yachts, safari boats and other passenger vessels are also forbidden. Tourists are not required to self-isolate for 14 days, while locals have to do this if returning from abroad. Tests are done randomly and quarantine is imposed if results are positive. Starting with September 10, tourists must present a negative PCR test when entering Maldives.

Mongolia

International commercial travel to Mongolia is suspended until at least October 31. Foreigners are not allowed to enter the country, unless they already have a valid residence permit or a long-stay visa. A quarantine of 21 days is mandatory for everyone entering the country.

Myanmar

Both international and domestic travel in Myanmar are restricted. Some restaurants may now open if they respect new health regulations. A curfew from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM is currently in place. People should not gather in groups larger than 5. Residents are permitted to use their personal vehicles within authorized hours, provided there are no more than 4 people in the car, including the driver. A 21-day quarantine in a state facility is mandatory for most travelers, followed by a 7-day quarantine at home.

Nepal

International commercial flights are now available, but only for Nepalis and their dependents in the first weeks. Land borders are currently closed for most nationalities. Suspected cases will be quarantined for two weeks. Mountain trekking is allowed, but long distance public transport has not resumed its activity yet.

North Korea

International travel is restricted. New arrivals need to quarantine for 14 days.

Oman

International flights have been suspended. Residents who exhibit symptoms need to contact health authorities for quarantine guidance.

Pakistan

Outbound international flights are available from all major airports, excluding Gwadar and Turbat. Qatar Airways are flying to Doha regularly. Inbound international flights are still suspended. Passengers departing Pakistan could be denied boarding if they fail a temperature check.

Philippines

Travelers will be required to take a COVID-19 test and quarantine if needed. Visas have been suspended, except close relatives of Philippines citizens.

Qatar

Only citizens and residents are allowed to enter the country at the moment. Air transfer through Qatar is permitted. A 14-day quarantine is mandatory for all new travelers. Some public spaces and restaurants are allowed to operate with reduced capacity. Masks are mandatory outside as well.

Saudi Arabia

All international and domestic travel is suspended. Restaurants are only open for take-away. Non-curfew hours are between 9AM and 5PM. All new visitors will be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival.

Sri Lanka

Some outbound flights are available, but inbound flights are used only for repatriations. Borders are closed for tourism until further notice. Tests and a 14-day quarantine are mandatory for those returning home, usually followed by another 14 days of self-isolation.

Syria

International travel is suspended. Land borders are closed for non-essential travel.

Tajikistan

All international travel is suspended. New arrivals must quarantine for 14 days.

Thailand

International commercial travel is restricted to business traveling, investors, skilled workers, Thai family members, students and teachers. Domestic travel is now permitted.

Turkmenistan

International flights are grounded, and land borders are restricted. Any arrivals must self-isolate. Some private flights may operate out of Turkmenabat Airport.

Uzbekistan

International flights are grounded. Legal Uzbek residents may enter by land. Foreign nationals may be allowed to leave by land, although it is generally difficult.

Vietnam

Only permanent legal residents, diplomats, and essential workers may enter. International tourism is not allowed at the moment. Arrivals are subject to medical checks and immediate self-isolation. Domestic travel is becoming increasingly available.

Yemen

Yemen has suspended all flights to and from Sanaa International Airport.

Africa

Algeria

International travel is suspended and land borders are closed. Public transportation in cities is now available. Businesses have started to reopen. Masks are mandatory in public spaces. Most major cities, including the capital, are under curfew from 8PM to 5AM.

Angola

Land borders are closed and international air travel has been suspended. Travelers must present a negative test but they still need to self-isolate for up to 14 days, depending on when the test was taken. Most businesses and entertainment venues have been closed.

Benin

All new arrivals must take a COVID-19 test and be isolated for up to 48 hours or until the result is confirmed to be negative. Travelers need to pay for the tests themselves, which cost around 100,000 CFA ($165/€153) each. Authorities can hold the passengers’ passports to make sure they comply with isolation rules. If travelers test positive, they will need to quarantine in a state-designated facility at their own expense.

Botswana

Travel to Botswana is restricted. Only citizens and residents are allowed to enter the country. New travelers arriving from high-risk countries need to complete a 14-day mandatory quarantine in a state-designated facility. Food will be provided during the quarantine period.

Burkina Faso

The Ouagadougou and Bobo airports resumed activity in August, but the land and sea borders remain closed.

Burundi

Borders are open but quarantine for 14 days is mandatory unless presenting a negative test when entering the country.

Cameroon

Some commercial flights are now available, but most are still suspended. The 14 days quarantine is mandatory, even if negative tests are required for a visa.

Cape Verde

International air travel has been suspended. People are now allowed to return home from a different island, but they will be tested. Most businesses are closed. Public transportation is available, but with limited service.

Central African Republic

The airport is open but only very limited flights are available. All new arrivals must quarantine for 21 days if they are coming from a country with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Chad

International air travel is now allowed, but limited options are available. All travelers are required to present a negative test taken 72 hours prior to the departure, surrender the passports and isolate for 7 days, when taking another test. Passports are returned when presenting the test receipt. The curfew is no longer in place.

Comoros

International air travel is currently suspended. Ports prohibit traffic from countries where cases of COVID-19 were reported.

Côte d’Ivoire

International air travel is now available but land and sea borders remain closed.

Djibouti

Borders are now open, but tests are mandatory when entering the country. Costs are supported by the travelers.

Egypt

International commercial flights are now available, but visitors need to self-isolate for 14 days after entering Egypt. Some provinces (like Sinai, Red Sea province and others) can receive travelers but will not allow them to exit the area.

Equatorial Guinea

International air travel is now available. All new arrivals must quarantine for 14 days if they cannot present a negative PCR test.

Eritrea

International air travel is suspended until further notice.

Ethiopia

Commercial air travel is available, but with limited flight options. A 14-day quarantine is mandatory for all new arrivals. The quarantine expenses will be covered by the travelers.

Gabon

International commercial flights are now available. Non-essential travel is prohibited by land or sea. A curfew between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM is in place across the country. Domestic travel is now allowed. Restaurants with outdoor services and hotels have resumed activity. Masks are mandatory in public spaces.

Gambia

International air travel has been suspended. Land borders are also closed. New travelers must quarantine for 14 days in a state-designated facility.

Ghana

Some international commercial flights are now available but land and sea borders are still closed. Negative PCR tests are required for entering Ghana and extra antigen tests are conducted upon arrival (costs are covered by passengers).

Guinea

Before traveling to Guinea, all passengers need to have a negative COVID-19 test. New travelers will be tested again upon arrival. Those who test positive will be immediately sent to Donka Hospital. Passengers who test negative at the airport and do not show any respiratory symptoms will be transferred to a hotel for a 14-day mandatory quarantine. Both Guinea nationals and foreign citizens must comply with the rules.

Guinea-Bissau

All international travel by air, sea, or land is currently suspended.

Kenya

Some commercial international flights are now available. Negative PCR tests are required for entering the country. Quarantine is not required for those coming from the countries mentioned here, unless they are symptomatic.

Lesotho

Non-essential travel is prohibited. There are currently no flights between Johannesburg and Maseru operated by SAA Airlink. Moshoeshoe airport and some border crossing points are open but operate under strict regulations and limited hours. Entry and exit in the country are permitted with approval from authorities, provided the travelers are facing a life threatening condition and are seeking immediate medical support. All travelers returning from countries where COVID-19 cases were reported need to quarantine for 14 days at home or in a state-designated facility at their own expense. They will be monitored by health officials.

Liberia

Commercial flights are now available. Land borders are closed, but ports are open for maritime travel. All new arrivals will be subject to a temperature test and will be asked to wash their hands with soap and water upon arrival. If you show symptoms of coronavirus, you might be required to quarantine in a designated facility.

Libya

The borders are closed and there is no official information on when the ban will be lifted.

Madagascar

Both international and domestic flights have been suspended. The ports are closed for cruise ships. There is no official date about the time when leisure travel can be resumed.

Malawi

International travel has been restricted. Only nationals and residents that are coming from a high-risk country will be allowed to enter Malawi. Fiji

French Polynesia

All arriving travelers must have a recent medical certificate (dated less than 5 days before departure) to enter the country. Additionally, Sanitary Control forms must be completed on the flight. Health checks are conducted on arrival, and results may require self-isolation.

Guam

Travelers who have been in any infected countries in under a week may not enter. Additionally, all arrivals must be able to demonstrate that they have been tested negative with COVID-19 within 72 hours of arrival. Legal residents are allowed to enter the country, except if they have been in high-risk regions within 28 days. All arrivals must quarantine in designated facilities. The current State of Emergency was extended until at least October 31.

Aruba

Borders are now open for visitors coming from Europe, Canada, the US and some Caribbean countries. Aruba Visitors Insurance and negative PCR tests are mandatory. Gatherings are limited to 4 persons.

Bahamas

Traveling is now permitted for all visitors after submitting a Travel Health Visa Application. A negative COVID-19 test taken maximum 5 days prior to the arrival is required.

Barbados

Commercial air travel is now available. You are advised to present a negative PCR test done 72 hours prior in order to benefit from fast track immigration. Otherwise, depending on your country of embarking, you will have to test on arrival.

Belize

All borders and international flights are closed.

Bermuda

All personal travel to Bermuda is forbidden. Some essential transport of goods is permitted. Businesses are allowed to operate under sanitary regulations under the current Phase 2 of reopening, enacted on May 21, and will reopen to international visitors when authorities enact Phase 4.

Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba

Each island has different restrictions. Bonaire – Travelers with a negative test and valid insurance may enter. Flights from Europe started to resume this month. Sint Eustatius – Travel from high-risk regions is not allowed. Travelers from medium-risk regions must self-isolate for 14 days. Saba – Only legal residents of this island are allowed to enter, and these must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

Cayman Islands

All international flights are banned, and any arrivals must quarantine for 14 days. If they are staying with family or roommates, these others must also quarantine for the duration.

Costa Rica

The citizens coming by air from the EU, Schengen area, the UK, Canada, Uruguay, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore and China can enter Costa Rica with valid travel insurance and negative PCR test.

Cuba

No air travel is permitted in or out of Cuba, and all foreign watercraft must leave as soon as it is medically or technically possible, as permitted by government authorities.

Curacao

Only legal residents are allowed to enter the country, if they are granted specific permission by government authorities. There is a curfew between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., enforced with fines. Standard social distance regulations apply in public spaces otherwise.

Dominica

Only legal residents are allowed into Dominica at this time.

Dominican Republic

Commercial flights are now available, but public activities are still limited. If negative tests are not presented, the airports are taking rapid tests and act accordingly. Masks are mandatory in public spaces.

El Salvador

Only legal residents of El Salvador are permitted to enter the country at this time, and must quarantine in a designated facility. Air travel is suspended, except for necessary transportation.

French West Indies

Travel certificates are required for all travel into French Overseas Territories. This form may be required before boarding, and it must be the original copy, not digital. Travelers are also required to undergo a health check on arrival, and will need to self-isolate if they test positive for COVID-19 symptoms.

Greenland

Most European citizens can enter Greenland, but they must show a negative PCR test not older than 5 days and complete a personal location form. There is no limit on how many people can come to Greenland anymore.

Grenada

All travel into Grenada is banned and enforced with penalties.

Guadeloupe

Travel certificates are required for all travel into French Overseas Territories. This form may be required before boarding, and it must be the original copy, not digital. Travelers are also required to undergo a health check on arrival, and will need to self-isolate if they test positive for COVID-19 symptoms.

Guatemala

Guatemala has closed all borders, permitting only legal residents to enter. All who enter must self-isolate for 15 days. Foreigners may exit the country, most notably through the Mexican border at El Carmen.

Haiti

Commercial flights to Haiti are now available and the land border with the Dominican Republic is now open. Visitors must fill in a COVID-19 declaration and keep it for the next 14 days for tracing if needed.

Honduras

Some international flights are now available but special permits are mandatory for domestic movement.

Jamaica

Jamaica has opened borders for tourism, however, passengers must obtain a Travel Authorization before checking in for their flight and they need to submit a PCR test result when applying for it.

Martinique

Travel certificates are required for all travel into French Overseas Territories. This form may be required before boarding, and it must be the original copy, not digital. Travelers are also required to undergo a health check on arrival, and will need to self-isolate if they test positive for COVID-19 symptoms.

Montserrat

Only legal residents (and immediate family thereof) may enter at this time. Arrivals are subject to medical screening and quarantine.

Mexico

There are no travel restrictions in place at this time, except that inbound travelers must be screened and self-isolate if they test positive for COVID-19. Travel from Mexico into the United States is limited to essential trips and repatriation until at least October 21.

Nicaragua

There are no official restrictions in place at this time, but there are no flights available.

Northern Mariana Islands

Travel is permitted, but travelers from high-risk countries must self-isolate for 14 days in a hotel. All arrivals must disembark in Saipan, and must complete their self-isolation there before continuing to other islands. They must also fill out a health form before arrival.

Panama

Commercial international flights are still not available. Only legal residents may enter over land borders, and must self-isolate for 14 days.

Puerto Rico

Entry by water is banned. Entry by air is possible, but subject to screening and mandatory self-isolation for 14 days.

Saint Kitts and Nevis

No travelers may enter until further notice. This includes legal residents.

Saint Lucia

Borders are closed, and ports are closed to cruise ships.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

There are no international flights until further notice. Ports are also not available to personal watercraft. All arrivals must self-quarantine at their own expense.

Sint Maarten

Only travelers specifically requested or permitted by the government are allowed to enter.

Trinidad and Tobago

There is no general entry permitted into the country at this time. Any travelers permitted to enter must self-isolate for 14 days.

Turks and Caicos

The Providenciales Airport is now open, but travelers have to apply for a pre-authorization on the TCI Assured portal. The Grand Turk Cruise Center is expected to reopen in 2021.

South America

Argentina

International commercial flights are suspended and borders are closed for foreigners until at least October 11. Only legal residents are allowed to enter the country. Any arriving travelers from high-risk countries must self-isolate for 14 days or face potential penalties. Travelers are allowed to leave the country on limited available flights.

Bolivia

International commercial flights are now allowed, but options are very limited. Those who want to enter the country have to get their negative PCR tests certified by a Bolivian consulate in order to be exempted from quarantine. Land borders are still closed.

Brazil

Only legal residents (or immediate family) may enter Brazil via the land borders at the moment, but foreigners can come by air, with a valid health insurance. Airports in Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraiba, Rondonia, Rio Grande do Sul and Tocantins are still open only for residents. Sea ports are also closed for foreigners.

Chile

Borders are closed, and ports are closed to all cruise ships. All travelers to the country must self-isolate for 14 days. Non-essential travel is restricted and movement between sanitary cordons require police authorization. A National State of Catastrophe is valid until at least September 25.

Colombia

All international commercial travel is still restricted. Any travelers arriving in Colombia must self-isolate for 14 days. Land and river borders are closed until at least October 1.

Ecuador

International commercial flights are now available. Visitors must present a negative PCR test or to agree to take one on arrival. Self-isolation is still mandatory for 14 days upon entering the country. Land borders are still closed and travel to the Galapagos Islands is restricted.

Falkland Islands

Cruise ship passengers may only enter the Falkland Islands provided the ship has been free of COVID-19 symptoms for at least 10 days. Air travelers must self-isolate for 14 days if they show COVID-19 symptoms.

French Guiana

All incoming international travel is banned, with the exception of returning nationals and other legal residents, and some medical or other necessary services.

Guyana

All international air travel is banned, with the exception of returning nationals and other legal residents, and specifically approved professional and medical flights.

Paraguay

All borders and airports are shut to international travel, with the exceptions of repatriation and some transported commercial goods. Any arriving travelers must quarantine for 14 days. Only legal residents are allowed to transit through the central airport in Asuncion.

Peru

All borders are closed indefinitely. Only essential businesses and services are allowed to operate, including dentistry, ophthalmology, rehabilitation services, and veterinary medicine. Certain maintenance and aesthetic practitioners are also permitted to serve people in their homes. People may also use private vehicles to procure food, medicine, and financial services within their districts of residence. Only one person per vehicle is allowed. Private vehicles may now also be used to transport people with urgent medical needs, as well as to perform any of the activities included in the Supreme Decree annex upon receipt of prior authorization from the Ministry of Defense or Ministry of Interior.

Suriname

Restrictions include enhanced medical screening and border closures, which is stopping people travelling into and out of the country and limiting those who wish to leave.

Uruguay

Uruguay’s borders are closed for tourists. Only legal citizens, residents of the country and other foreigners with specific purposes are allowed to enter the country.

Venezuela

Most flight options in and out of Venezuela are unavailable at this time. Self-isolation for 14 days is officially advised for all travelers arriving in Venezuela.
