What to Expect
Situated 46 km south of Madrid, the Royal Site of Aranjuez is located in a fertile valley on the banks of the river Tagus. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 2001, the site includes numerous gardens that have served as inspiration for some of Spain's most famous composers.

Palacio Real boasts a variety of decorative styles with highlights such as the China Chamber Porcelain and the Throne Room of Elizabeth II, The Prince's Gardens, Parterre and the Island.

At the Museum of Royal Feluccas, see the long, narrow boats used by the royal family to navigate the Tagus river. These include a gondola belonging to Philip V, and the boats of Charles IV, Ferdinand VII and Elizabeth II.
