Start off with a picturesque walk from Opera Metro in Plaza de Isabel II, home to the Teatro Royal. After a trip through Plaza de Oriente, enjoy skip-the-line privileges before entering the palace. Relish visits to the Throne Room, Banquet Hall and Private Royal apartments where your professional tour guide will provide you with anecdotes. Marvel at exclusive works of art by Velázquez and Goya, as well as historical articles such as historic tapestries, suits of armor and ornate swords.  The 19th-century design and beautiful floral layout will serve as an excellent backdrop for memorable photos. After the guided visit, feel free to take a stroll through the Royal Gardens and visit other highlights such as the Royal Armory and Pharmacy. Our tour guide Lydia did a great job of describing the history of the palace and provided detailed anecdotes about the monarchs who lived in it. The tour lasted a good amount of time and was a lot of fun. We did the early morning tour, which allowed us to see the palace without a lot of people being there.

The Skip the Line tour was awesome. We gained access to the palace before all others. Our small group was given access to areas of the palace not seen by the normal tourist crowds. Beny, our guide, was extremely informative and entertaining. He made the experience very special for us. We would highly recommend this tour to others.

I felt the guided tour was very well done and informative. Ivan was a wonderful guide, and was extremely knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed the fact that he was able to highlight some of the artwork and features that would probably be overlooked by a mere walk through of the palace. It was unfortunate that he was told to hurry it up due to an overzealous tour group behind us, and this made the remainder of the tour less informed, but still good.
