Enjoy a flamenco show performed by 9 artists at the Corral de la Morería, the cathedral of flamenco in Spain. Sip on a drink during the show, or treat yourself to a gourmet 3-course dinner with drinks.

The venue was opened in 1956 by Manuel del Rey and is the most well-known tablao flamenco in the world. Throughout its history, the Corral de la Morería has witnessed performances by some of the finest professionals of this discipline. The venue is located in Madrid’s historic center, next to the Royal Palace. Its decor recreates a setting reminiscent of the original tablao flamenco that will take you back in time. It is popular with many famous personalities, so don't be surprised if you’re seated next to a celebrity, a politician, or a royal.

The menu is as follows:

• Starter: Huerto Cordobes and Salmorejo Dip, or Smoked Cheesecake

• Main: Roasted Pork Shoulder, Salmon with Vegetable Sauce, Lamb Rack, or Braised Veal Pie

• Dessert: French Toast or Chocolate

The show was good, not great. There were five performers, of which one was outstanding (the bailaor), two were decent (the bailaora and the guitarist), and the others (singers) were borderline amateur. What was regrettably missing was a dance with both the bailaor and the bailaora together-- perhaps the very small stage made this impossible. The setting was intimate, to the point of feeling too crowded. Tables had to be shuffled to allow guests to come and go from their seats. We went to Sevilla after Madrid where we think we could’ve got more to offer than Madrid.
