Madrid: 10 Tapas 2.5-Hour Cooking Class

This was a nice experience. The hosts were very professional. The class was well structured. The instructor was great - he remembered everyone’s names and was attentive that everyone is participating in the cooking process. There were participants from all around the world, around 16 in total. In the end we had dinner with the dishes we cooked together and had some good wine. I can’t wait to cook for my family. I would recommend that participants are reminded to wash their hands before the beginning of the class.

This was a great way to spend a couple of hours and learn some tips and tricks for making some of the classic Spanish tapas. I particularly appreciated that many of the tapas were vegetarian and that the host chef, knowing I didn't eat meat or shellfish, was conscious of providing non-meat options along the way. I especially liked the tips he shared that came from his family's traditions. I have made tapas at home before but now will do so with a richer sense of the tradition I am tapping into.
