Take the morning trip in the summer months- easier to enjoy the walk. Easy meeting point in the city Get there 15 minutes earlier than departure time, otherwise it becomes a zoo, as many trips meet at this point. Guide was very friendly and explained well and was open to ask questions. The morning trip meant we were able to walk easily, although this is not of r people with walking/ joint issues. The morning trip is primarily about El Greco and was amazing- you see original artwork that is world renowned. The whole day trip includes lunch. The guide explained the meanings very well- speaking as someone who has not been exposed to art. The coach was A/C all the way and was comfortable- the only slight issue was the coach did breakdown on the way to Toledo (just after we stopped for a bathroom and coffee break), however we simply boarded another coach- adding a couple of minutes to the trip. Summing up: great value for money, good introduction to Toledo, good guide.
Sol, the tour guide was in my opinion quite disorganized and was unable to sustain the attention and interests of the group. With limited time, she could have managed the tour better. At times we would be walking for long periods of time in extreme cold weather. We had to switch buses. She was knowledgeable but lacked people skills. I would prefer someone far pleasant and interesting. We were not able to visit the inside of churches except maybe for one so my goal to compare churches was not fulfilled.
Guide was knowledgeable and functional, however, showed no enthusiasm and did not engage with the group. She answered questions begrudgingly. The sword factory was diappointing as was shopping there. We would have liked 15 or 20 minutes to shop near the Sinogoga de Santa Maria however there was no time included in the tour.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very interesting. He saw that some of us were having difficulty with the steep inclines and declines, uneven pavement and cobblestone streets. I got blisters in my feet even though I wore good sneakers and socks! However, it was an amazing and informative tour.
Alhambra is a massive complex and it was incredible to navigate it with a guide. Although we didn’t get to Nasrid palace, we saw everything else and learned so much. I would definitely recommend this tour! You will have to walk up the hill so make sure your legs are well rested!
