What to Expect
Relive the story of Don Quixote and get immersed in a region full of tumultuous battles and wild history on this tour from Madrid to La Mancha. La Mancha, once known for bulk wine, is now one of the emerging wine regions in Spain producing very high-quality products. It is the homeland of Don Quixote, the knight of the sad figure created by Cervantes, one of the most famous Spanish writers.
On this tour you will follow his steps through the area. Although La Mancha is a wind-swept, battered plateau, it remains a symbol of the Spanish culture with its sunflowers, olive yards, windmills, Manchego Cheese, wine making, and Don Quixote.
La Mancha is about 2 hours from Madrid. You will leave Madrid in the morning around 9.00 and admire the scenery of this beautiful rural region along the way. Once there you will visit 2 wineries, have lunch, and visit the famous windmills fought by Don Quixote. You will also taste the spectacular and famous Manchego cheese accompanied by a delicious local white or red wine. Approximate duration of the tour is about 10 hours.

Know Before You Go
Wineries visited will depend on availability and your personal preferences. Once the date is
chosen we will confirm wineries and restaurant. You can suggest any winery you may want to visit and we will try to accommodate your suggestions.
Sundays are not the best days for visiting wineries since a lot of them are closed. Some wineries are also closed on Saturdays. However we can still arrange excursions on those days with a more limited winery selection.
Although this is a private tour we do not guarantee that the winery visit will be just for your group unless specifically requested. Please let us know if you prefer to have a private tour and tasting.
Usually you will taste two wines at each winery; more extensive tastings can be included.
