Does require a long bus ride from funchal if you don't have car. Bus stops not marked either. In odd deserted hotel village but was fun getting speed boat taxi to kayak area. the kayaking itself not hard or far, the main part was the snorkelling and seeing lots of fishes

Our guid was really nice and had knowledge of the area. We went kayaking for about 2 hours and then they borrowed a snorkels if we wanted. Everything was great, including the speedboat we had to take to the place where kayaks were waiting. I was a bit scared at first but guid Martin was awesome and assured me that nothing can happen, the water where we kayaked was average 3 meters deep- we could choose if we want to go deeper or just kayak around the coast.
