Pickup and drop-off are available from the following areas: Funchal and Caniço only. Location such has Calheta, Ponta do Sol, Gaula, Santa Cruz, etc are NOT included in the pick up range. The day before, you will be contacted by the organizer by WhatsApp in order to confirm the pickup details and your pickup location. The time of the activity is an average starting time and the day before the hike, you will receive your exact pick up time. On the day of the activity, we have a very small tolerance for delays, so if you are not at the correct location and the correct time, your reservation will be considered a no-show.

A must do in Madeira! The hike itself was fantastic and we were lucky to have perfect weather conditions. Communication ahead of the day waa fanastic and our driver Nuno was great and gave clear instructions on what to do on the day, and was punctual. would highly recommend the sunrise hike!

We were really lucky with the weather. We only hiked part of the PR1 (as the rest of it is shut). It was quite busy with lots of tourists. The PR3 trail we went on after was much quieter and the scenery was beautiful. Watching the sunrise at pick do ariero was amazing, good transport and all in all lovely trip that was worth the money.

Full description

Hike at your own rhythm on a self-guided trek in Madeira with pick-up and dropoff at your accommodation. Explore Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo, for the sunrise and view unique landscapes between Madeira's highest mountains (up to 1862 m).

Get picked up at your accommodation with a shared transfer (up to 8 guests per van) and head to the 2nd highest mountain, Pico do Arieiro.


Get instructions and map explanations from your host along with a schedule. Hike for 5 hours from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo and then Achada do Teixeira (10 km).


Be picked up after the hike at Achada do Teixeira in the parking lot.
